Question for Jews and Pagans

Unexpected combination, right?

But my question is regarding the outlooks on life which help explain the mystery of why one is here. I don't really know how Judaism approaches this at all, and there are many differing Pagan branches, and I'd like to hear from some who can offer the views of their tradition(or one they are knowledgeable about).

Basically, why are we here(from your tradition's teachings)? Who are we? What is our purpose?

Or something like that. :)

I'd go with this, from Kohelet (Ecclesiastes),

The end of the matter, everything having been heard, fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

here is a very mystical version of things --
When God created the limited and physical universe his own essence had to be limited but the nature of the universe couldn't handle God's infiniteness and a "container" of God shattered. With every good deed, we piece the containers together until the universe is perfected through our behavior and God's full self can be "reconciled" with the world.

That's beautiful. :)

we were created to be co recreators of the universe. this world is a temporal realm to test us and make our recreations of new worlds better. the struggles we go through are designed to make us stronger.our thought words and desires and actions all culminate to create our new existance in the recreation which will unravel as soon as this realm is thrown away. God wants to enjoy our collective creations. he will travel through our realms where we will be Gods and we will be better than him.
