I prefer the approach on Genesis 1 & 2. The material is a gift of God to us and for us to enjoy. We just shouldn't let the the material own us.A Sufi is only a visitor on the earth, the sufi do not hold any ownership in materalistic objects.

Nobody truly owns anything. You don't need to be a sufi to acknowledge something like that.A Sufi is only a visitor on the earth, the sufi do not hold any ownership in materalistic objects.

I would say we all are just visitors on earth. We all have limited time here and the material objects we aquire while here, don't go with us when we leave.
Do you have limited time here? If yes then we are just visiting here because we will eventually leave this world we know.If we're visitors, where's our home?

Where is home?? Who knows. I don't.

True, all people may think like this.Nobody truly owns anything. You don't need to be a sufi to acknowledge something like that.
Heaven.If we're visitors, where's our home?
The thought behind the verse in the OP is to say, nothing in the dunya (the temporal world) is worth holding on to, the saying does not only belong in sufism, but can be implemented by anyone who see the world as a temporarily existence. The saying is a part of sufi teaching and will be repeated by those who practice within sufism.A Sufi is only a visitor on the earth, the sufi do not hold any ownership in materalistic objects.
