Peace, truth, kindness, justice, love, forgiverness, goodness, oneness is virtues from God. It is divine virtues.
And sects within a spesific religion has different degrees of divine virtues. The different religious sects has different degrees of God's truth in it.

So the religious sects who teach most about those divine virtues like peace, truth, kindness, justice, love, forgiverness, goodness and who do not teach hate and violence is really from God.
I can hear you saying, "the sects are from God". But, maybe the ones who lead those sects know that rule.

I do not understand what you mean.
Is it not possible that a devious person or persons sets up a cultish organization knowing that people will believe that it is from God because he/she/they teach peace, truth, kindness, justice, love, forgiveness, goodness, oneness...but those are not their ultimate objective? They make themselves look good so that people will believe them but their intention is evil and secret.

Is God evil and a secret?

I tend to believe that a person can be for peace, love the truth, be kind, seek justice, forgive whenever able to, be good, and love without anyone teaching them those.

I wonder what oneness means to you? @Meandflower

I think that virtue comes from loving God and that nobody can be taught to love God. Loving God is from God alone.

Humans is God's creation. It is a divine virtue, a divine truth to be kind and loving to others no matter what religion they believe in. Religion should not separate humans. We are all created by God.

OK! So, being in God's image humans do not need to join a religion to be like God. I agree!
Religion DOES separate us. I agree!
You said that religion can be from God. I can't agree with this also. Right?

Humans need religion. Good and loving religions. Because humans need rules and guidelines. It is good to follow a loving religion. Humans is not like God. But yes humans is created in God's image.

But yes much of the teachings in different sects within religions teach teachings that do separate us. That is bad. I Hope different sects within different religions Will soon change, that they Will understand all humans is created by God and that It is a divine virtue to be loving and kind to others no matter what religion they believe in. Many sects within different religions has understood this already.

Well, the closed I can get as an atheist, is that I have faith in the world and humans.

What "sects" are you speaking of? Just a curious question really.

The problem being that "peace" seems to have conflicting meanings to various groups, "truth" is hotly contested, "justice" has varied meanings and examples, "love" seems to be (for some) to be conditional and structured, and "God" is an even hotter contested issue. From which god came all these virtues? Yours and yours alone, or many and varied?

So the religious sects who teach most about those divine virtues like peace, truth, kindness, justice, love, forgiverness, goodness and who do not teach hate and violence is really from God.
Show me a religion that only teaches those "divine virtues" and does not teach any form of hate or violence.

Jesus in me
Yes.

Some of it has to do with scope, though. For example, Abrahamic religions sometimes focus on a narrow set of things and following those ideas through to completion. I find Hinduism as covering a larger, less strict scope, so I guess it makes sense that more beliefs within it, may be correct - though it's more about the math in this example / context than about who has the greatest truth.

I believe a heap of gibberish that doesn't come from God for sure doesn't qualify as a higher truth.

Muffled

Jesus in me
Well that is a all embracing question.

Personally I see the answer is God given religion.

Regards Tony

I believe that tends to serve a temporal and environmental purpose.

I am reminded of a girl who was flustered because her mother's recipe called for filling a bowl up to the crack but she didn't have that bowl.

And which religion is a "loving" religion? Most all of them believe in things that do separate people. We, the believers versus them the evil people, or the people that believe some false religion. And the believers in one, determine what makes those others false. Even religions that say they believe that all people are one, still separate people into "us" and "them". Them the Atheists. Them the people that believe some other religion but believe it too literally, thus blinding them to the truth of our "true" one etc.
