It is my view that you can put anything you want on a pizza. But never more than 2-3 things at a time, chosen carefully.
Asiago and artichokes, for example (with a white sauce).
If you've got to do pineapple, a small amount of smoked ham, mozzarella and a little caramelized onions would do the trick. That, too, should go with a white sauce.

One must be careful, though. There are enzymes in pineapple which quickly tenderize meat. These are neutralized in your stomach, but they are very harsh and will dissolve meat.
