is religion mostly about the states of mind? psychology?
Possibly more about emotions and needs - as to having answers - and often any appropriate answer will do for some. Given that I have had many questions over my life, I can understand at least one of these, but where religious explanations were not satisfactory ones for me. And perhaps my head rules over my heart in such matters so emotion was never really there as a player.

sigmund freud had once said to use your head in small matters and your heart in big ones.

“In the small matters trust the mind, in the large ones the heart.”

Our brains are wired to "see" something when it comes to unknowns. It could be dangerous, so our minds imagine something out there and our bodies react. Psychologically, we like to be part of a larger group.

And we know all about his contributions to psychology. Have just never felt a need for any religious position - apart from not joining any group which is essentially set opposed to any others.
