Had a nice day, early shopping in Sarlat including a pastry and coffee breakfast in a 900 year old patisserie - let me rephrase that, the building is 900 years old, the patisserie first opened only 120 years ago...

Then the old shopping cart got through its CT (bi-annual test).

I call that a win, win.

Not even sure they do savoury pastry in france. I don't remember seeing any other than quiche

The two pastries in the pic are croissant almond and pain (pronounced pan meaning bread) aux raisin. Sweet pastry seems to be the thing

No pasties, meat pies or sausage rolls?

This is not winning as I now am going to spend time with my address book adding my area code to all phone numbers.

Verizon Msg: Starting 10/24/21, you must dial the area code for all calls. This change supports 988 as the new 3-digit code to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Visit verizon.com/988 for more info. Data charges may apply

Never seen any. Even the English chip shop van that used to come around every month didn't do pies.

Quiche and pizza are available

Before the pandemic our expats club put on meals twice a year for the french pensioners of the village. The meal was themed from one of the countries from which our members came so we would have an English, Scottish, Irish, Canadian, American, Spanish, South African, Iranian, Japanese. The time we did an English meal we made steak and ale pie for 80 people. Went down very well but they did think that covering the meat with pastry was a quirk they could have done without.

we had this come up last winter, if I recall correctly...we don't have huge numbers of contacts, so it only took an hour or so...and afforded us the opportunity to delete some unneeded persons...

I have too many including those I used to work with over a decade ago. I have less now after purging quite a few but too many to go through as a mass. I'll have to fix them as I come to them.

I found a way to do most - downloaded google contacts, hid many columns so LibreOffice Calc would import the phone#s, looked through the list and identified the ~20 or so that need immediate updates.
