My question is why do some people believe OBE and NDE are somehow supernatural experiences or demonic or so have you?

It's not an everyday occurrence and there's a lot of mystery behind it, but that doesn't mean it's a bad event. I know I've had outer body experiences but they weren't something I'd run to a scripture about or take as something demonic. I know my parent sees spirits and experiences them-of different people who have lived before-but she doesn't make anything of it. Call it delusional but it's really just part of everyday conversation, she takes a nap, and then goes to work. This is what people would call supernatural-with spirits-but OBE and NDE have medical causes and still studied as such. A mystery, yes, but religiously why is it something bad? It just is.

I have not experienced them myself, And I try to stay away from it in my spiritual practice, I do not see them as important to me, at least not at the stage I am right now.

Can OBE happen naturally? Yes of course, and it is nothing wrong with it.
I Have heard OBE Is a part of other spiritual paths too, but from a Sufi understanding (my understanding as a Sufi) There could be some danger if one has not been properly guided. And maybe the reason could be, what if the spirit or soul do not get back into the body when one tries to return? (i can not say if it is like that, because i never tried)

People often think they are demonic because of the content of some, although this is not necessarily the case. To me they aren't necessarily demonic or supernatural but is basically a thing that happens to some people. Usually it has a positive impact on them from what I can see.

I guess I'm confused by your question? Who considers OBE and NDE to be something demonic or bad. That is certainly not the average opinion.

What does IAD stand for?

I've heard it in evangelist religious views mostly. It's aligned with possession. Something not of god (https://www.gotquestions.org/out-of-body-experience.html). OBE specifically. Not so much NDE though since some people meet christ when they have near death experiences. Touch and go there.

For some strange reason I have recently had three OBEs, all during daytime naps, between August and September. Up to that point I had only read about them. They are definitely different from regular dreams and even lucid dreams. In my case lucid dreams were the 'launching point' for these experiences.

I believe in OBEs but have never had one.

What were yours like? How far did you go? Did you see things you couldn't have seen in the body? Did you see yourself?

None of mine took me beyond the boundaries of my condo, unfortunately, but it was still enough to blow my mind.

I went into more detail at one of my blogs. The links to the entries are at the bottom of this post (otherwise this post will get very long )

I will confess that the primary motivation I have for pursuing astral travel is that there is someone to whom I feel a connection who is currently on the Other Side. Ideally, I would like to contact him and get confirmation on that (a good chunk of that blog is about this (perceived) connection, which has already manifested in some very uncanny signs, synchronicity, etc. ). Though, from what I've read, such confirmation isn't really necessary (enough has happened that I probably don't reeeeeally need it).
  1. Astral launch
  2. Another OBE!
  3. Mini-launch this morning
