The earth being 4.5 billions years old provides a better explanation of what we've discovered about the earth so far.
YEC is based more on faith of a specific interpretation of the Bible.
One can still believe the Bible without accepting one interpretation among the many that are available.
Better for you but not me.

I’m really not one to believe that all that is has always been around and always will be. All things end in my gut felt belief.

Shallow for you perhaps but not me. The ice is pretty thick around here.
No, your ice is far thinner than you know. If one calls oneself a Christian but does not follow the teachings of Jesus, but focuses on the minutia and errors in the Bible instead don't you think that he has a good chance at failing the goal of his religion? There are too many Christians that abuse their faith to support what they want to believe rather than what is actually taught in the Bible.

FYI
My spirituality is based on reality not Christianity.
If your spirituality was based upon reality then you would have to accept evolution. You are basing it on something rather odd. I am not sure what you base it on. But it clearly is not reality.

My truth is different than yours so therefore it’s personal
Once again, truth is simply not personal. You are conflating belief and truth. They are two different things. Your beliefs may be different, but the truth is the same for everyone. Just as facts are the same for everyone.

Yeah but you’re reading too deep. You’ve forgotten to notice that the truth that I speak of is the fact that I believe the earth was created in a nano second.

More simply, it is a fact or “true” that I believe A or B. . I’m not talking about A or B being true. So yes I am speaking my truth and it’s personal.

That you believe something is true. That does not make the belief itself true. There is not very much difference between having one's own "truth" and self inflicted delusion.

It may be more comforting to you. But it is far from the truth.

Can you tell me what about the fact that you share a common ancestor with other apes bothers you? I am always curious why people do not like this.

I don’t think you’re following me. That’s OK.
Nothing bothers me about it. I just believe something different

No self inflicted delusions here
