The Eternal Self

The meaning is lost because of the language you use.
Why do you say I don't believe in eternal/everlasting life?
Ever lasting life isn't a form. Like Jesus said the Spirit quickens, enlivens. The form it takes is unimportant. So then life is Spirit. It doesn't come and go into being like a person, like a beast.

Praise Jah

Psalm 83:18
per the OT the eternal impersonal self existed before the form?

jeremiah 1:5

so then the form is temporal and counts for nothing, a flash in the pan?
Jehovah God, as the womb's Designer, can see exactly what is being formed in it. He can read the hereditary traits being built into the unborn child and determine what use He wants to make of the individual, if He so desires.

Jehovah took special interest in Jeremiah from his conception onward because Jehovah had a special commission in mind for Jeremiah to serve as a prophet. (Jeremiah 1:2-5)

Being foreordained with the privilege of being a special servant, however, does not guarantee that that person will gain eternal salvation. It also does not mean that they will remain faithful until death.

For example, Jehovah foretold that one of David's many sons would be named Solomon and he foreordained that Solomon would be used to build the temple. Though favored in this way and privileged to also write some of the books of the Holy Scriptures, Solomon nevertheless fell into apostasy in his later years. (1 Kings 11:4) (1 Kings 11:9-11)

the spirit is eternal. the person is not. remember? that supposedly is that part that either goes to heaven or hell isn't? the body goes back to the earth. like adam was heaped up as a mound and then god breathed his Spirit into adam and he became a living being.

Form is "a momentary interaction of forces, a process that for a brief moment manages to keep it's shape, to hold itself in equilibrium before disintegrating again into dust".
- Carlo Rovelli

Whether it counts for nothing though, depends on the perspective of the one assigning value. Does the ceiling of the Cistine Chapel count for nothing? It too will be dust one day.

Nevertheless to be a complete human we need a body.

The body and soul can be destroyed by God (Matt 10:28)
At the resurrection we get a new body in which to spend eternity.

ecclesiastes 12:7
The word “spirit” is translated from the Hebrew word ruʹach, meaning the life-force. The spirit is our life-force.

This life-force is in each of the body cells of both humans and animals. It is sustained, or kept alive, by breathing. At death the life-force in time leaves all the body cells and the body begins to decay.

Speaking about man’s death, Ecclesiastes 12:7 states: “The dust [of his body] returns to the earth, just as it was, and the spirit returns to the true God who gave it.” When the spirit, or life-force, leaves the body, the body dies and returns to where it came from—the earth. Comparably, the life-force returns to where it came from—God. (Job 34:14-15; Psalm 36:9)

This does not mean that the life-force actually travels to heaven. Rather, it means that for someone who dies, any hope of future life rests with Jehovah God. His life is in God’s hands, so to speak. Only by God’s power can the spirit, or life-force, be given back so that a person may live again.

Consider, for example, what the Scriptures say about Jesus Christ’s death. The Gospel writer Luke relates: “Jesus called with a loud voice and said: ‘Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.’ When he had said this, he expired.” (Luke 23:46) As Jesus’ spirit, or life-force, went out of him, he was not literally on his way to heaven. Jesus was not resurrected from the dead until the third day, and it was 40 days later that he ascended to heaven. (Acts 1:3, 9) At the time of his death, however, Jesus confidently left his spirit, or life- force, in his Father’s hands, fully trusting in Jehovah’s ability to bring him back to life.

temporal things are like that. they were created. they will eventually be dissolved. assigning a value is personal. the fact it is temporal, fleeting, isn't.

your body has changed constantly in it conception but the body won't remain. the spirit doesn't require an earthly body. so you prefer the beast, the ego above the spiritual body?

a soul has a body. when you destroy the soul the body goes back to the earth. the beast, the ego identifies with a earthly body. a soul is a person. it has a personality. the spirit isn't a person. the spirit doesn't identify with an earthly body.

you worship the beast over the spirit? man is a beast. spirit isn't.

Jehovah's Witnesses only worship Almighty God Jehovah. He is the Creator and the source of life. (Psalms 83:18) (Psalms 150:6) (Revelation 4:11)
jehovah means simply lord.

  1. Exodus 3:15 The Hebrew for Lord sounds like and may be related to the Hebrew for I am in verse 14.

the name you're using comes from exodus 3:15.

the name above all names comes from exodus 3:14. this is the name you are not to take in vain. this is the name that all are to be baptized into. it is the ineffable name. this is the name of the Father sealed into the 144,000. this is the name that drives out demons.

philippians 2:9 is not the name jehovah

God's personal name, Jehovah, comes from the basic Hebrew root הוה, h·w·h, meaning “to become.” However, the name is in the causative form, Hiph·ʽilʹ, according to Hebrew grammar. Therefore its basic sense is not relating to God’s eternal existence but rather to his causing things to come to be or to come about. Thus, “Jehovah” means “He Causes to Become.”

At Philippians 2:9, the apostle Paul describes what Jehovah did after Jesus’ death and resurrection: “God exalted him [Jesus] to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name."

When Paul said that Jesus was given a name above every other name, he meant that Jesus now has the highest name of all God’s creatures.
Jesus in the elevated and powerful position given to him by Jehovah is “to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:11) Jesus received his elevated name from Jehovah after his resurrection. Before that, Jesus did not possess it.

Jehovah has always been supreme, and his position has never changed. Only Jehovah God has a name absolutely above every other name.

exodus 3:14 is a verb

exodus 3:15 is a noun.

its a deverbal noun representing a conscious action, a conscious process.

i will be what i will be can be understood as i am in the Father and the Father is in me and i in you too

john 14:20

this agrees with paul's statement colossians 3:11

jesus said if they tell you christ is here or there believe them not because that is for the realization of the son of man.

Jesus and his Father are not literally one person. They are one in that they are in agreement on all things.

This why Jesus prays that his followers enjoy this same oneness of unity. His disciples are “in union” in that they show oneness in cooperation, being of one heart and mind with both Jehovah and Christ, as they witness to the world of mankind. Love would be a mark of Jesus’ true disciples that would contribute to their unity. (John 13:34, 35) (John 17:20-21)

In the Christian congregation there should be no distinction based on race, nationality, or social status because true followers of Christ “are all one.” (Colossians 3:11) (Galatians 3:28)

this is oness. but oneness is about being aligned to god's will and not so much to another person

It is a flash - but it is an extremely important flash.

There are experiences and ordinances that can only be had in Time that are crucial to our eternal development.
