If a man as an adult pays no homage to his life's presence via his father as an adult maybe he needed to be reminded whose spirit he belonged to instead of ignoring his brothers equality in life. Why does God need "glorification?"
Perhaps he just needs therapy....
"...homage to life's presence" What's that mean?If a man as an adult pays no homage to his life's presence via his father as an adult maybe he needed to be reminded whose spirit he belonged to instead of ignoring his brothers equality in life.
so paul claims we are to glorify god in our bodies.
what then is god that it is part of us?
1 Corinthians 6:20
Why does God need "glorification?"
Perhaps he just needs therapy....
but what is god in our body.God is Spirit and can be in us and promises to dwell in a Christian, but I have always understood 1Cor 6:20 to mean "with" our body and "with" our spirit. That is also what many translations have.
but what is god in the body if the Holy spirit of self is the same? 1 Corinthians 6:19 what is the fruit of the Spirit?1Cor 6:20 is speaking to those who have been bought by the blood of Jesus and who have freely given themselves to the service of God, body, mind and spirit.
To glorify God is part of the right relationship we should have with God because of who and what God is if understood correctly. God wants to show us that right relationship.
Many people who have not got that relationship get it all wrong and mock those who have it and curse the God who gave us life and everything else we have.
if the statement is true, then what is god within self? Why does God need "glorification?"
Perhaps he just needs therapy....
"...homage to life's presence" What's that mean?
"His father" What's his dad have do do with anything?
"...whose spirit he belonged to" ---- ?????
I don't understand the question.so paul claims we are to glorify god in our bodies.
what then is god that it is part of us?
1 Corinthians 6:20
The only part of my body that is worthy any glorification is exactly that part that computes Paul's God to be utterly ridiculous. So, I am not sure how to solve this vexing conundrum.so paul claims we are to glorify god in our bodies.

not realy surprising. teacher assigns a book for reading and then asks for a book report. you get different interpretations, or reports, because of the viewer's experiences, biases, and filters.Right? This is why there are over 40,000 denominations of Christianity.
then maybe ask a question?don't understand the question.
the verse before it does say it is a part of you. 1 corinthians 6:19. god fills the heavens and earth jeremiah 23:24. god is immanent, omnipresent,It doesn't say God is part of us.
only god is good. what is god?It means we choose to do good with our physical being because doing so glorifies God.
[then maybe ask a question?

...
How do you know all this? If true, why isn't there general agreement?1Cor 6:20 is speaking to those who have been bought by the blood of Jesus and who have freely given themselves to the service of God, body, mind and spirit.

No, I don't know that, I don't even know that there is a God.Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
[/quote] Again the Bible isn't an authoritative source. There are a hundred of different different religions, with a hundred different scriptures. How are any of these any less authoritative than the Bible? Christians can't even agree on their interpretations of the Bible.John 4:24
He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:8
If we live by that spirit and show how good it is, we glorify God by the actions that are from God.
Are these the "love God; love thy neighbor" commandments? Don't many religions and social systems have similar commandments?why are the two greatest commandments alike, where is self in this ideal?
