Here is the basic Christian Teaching on : Tripart

Genesis said that man "1st Adam" was made in "Our image".
"Our image" : = "God the Father, Christ the Pre-incarnate Word, and The Holy Spirit.

1.) God the Father
2.) God the Word (Jesus pre-incarnate)
3.) God the Holy Spirit.
"3'.
= "Trinity".

Man is also, by " Our image", created as 3.

1. Body
2. Soul
3. Spirit

You live in a body
You have a soul
You are a Spirit,

So, you are a Spirit. You live in a body, and you have a mind.
John 4 : teaches that God is "A" Spirit.
This is the literal distinction between God's Spirit, and all others.

The Body, is our house...(earthen vessel).
Our living eternal Spirit lives in our body.
Our body is affected by these 5.."senses"...
1.) Touch
2.) Taste,
3.) Hear,
4.) Smell
5.) See

These 5 senses are what activates the Body. (feelings and emotions).

-------------------------

The Soul realm, is not the Spirit, and its not the body.
The Soul realm is :

1. MInd
2. Will
3. Emotions.

Your "soul" or your "soul realm", is where you think, and where you make choices.
Its within the soul, that you find the will, and of course the free will.

Your Spirit :

This is the real you, that is eternal, and lives in the body as :

1. Conscience & Consciousness
2. Intuition

Your body will die, your Spirit will not.

Christianity is the re-joining of your Spirit to God's Spirit.
This is what is meant by Jesus saying : "you must be Born again."

Your views are not all that different from mine. For the most part, we just use different terms.

For me, what you describe as body I call the gross body. It is the physical body and the brain and contains the sense organs.

What you describe as the soul, I call the subtle body. This contains one's character, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and memories.

The two bodies I describe above, in my view, are impermanent.

What you describe as the Spirit, I call the Atman (for the most part; a some differences). This is the immortal being; one's true nature, which is immutable. However, in my own understanding, the conscience and intuition are not a part of this. The Atman, in my view, is pure consciousness. The witness. The "I" that observes the cannot be observed. It is what is left when all that is not me is dropped. Conscience and intuition, for the most part, are part of the subtle body, except for that which is tied to karma. Which brings me to a prime difference in our views, as I see yet another body or "part."

What I do not see in the "Tri-Part" teaching is any record of accountability for one's actions. This, in my worldview, is contained what I call the causal body. This is what holds one's karmic account, the sum of one's actions. It determines what challenges or the degree of challenges one faces in life.

I'm curious though, given the similarity in our views: What, if any, properties or characteristics survive death of the body/mind complex in your view? What is retained in that which you call Spirit? Does the Spirit have the chance to live again in another body after death of this one?

Also, as an aside, please note the language differences in our posts. Yours use the word "you" and "your" throughout the post, implying that your beliefs apply to me, and I would be justified in taking exception to this. Mine, however, use the pronoun "one," which does not automatically apply, impose, or project my views upon you.

You might find this helpful in participating on a forum where varying beliefs are discussed.

""""""""What I do not see in the "Tri-Part" teaching is any record of accountability for one's actions. """""""""

That would be "free will" that is found in the "soul realm".

The "accountability" regarding free will is "consequences".
This can be thought of as "Karma"
Or if looking for the Christian aspect then its this verse...>"sowing and reaping".
The idea being, that "destiny", is the harvest that comes to us, regarding the deeds that we have committed.

""""""""""I'm curious though, given the similarity in our views: What, if any, properties or characteristics survive death of the body/mind complex in your view? """"""""""""""

God is "A" Spirit. This distinguishes God's Spirit from all other Spirits.
For example, demonic or the unholy spirit.
Man, is created out of the earth, and given LIFE, that is the Spirit of God.
Jesus said, "i am the way , the truth, and THE Life.
Life is the Spirit and the power of the Spirit, of God.

The Apostle Paul said (regarding born again Christians) that to be absent from the body....((he body is dead and the Spirit leaves it)).......is to be present with the Lord.
Spirit and Mind are connected, tho different, as one is LIFE, and one is Understanding.

What is retained in that which you call Spirit?"""""""""""

The Spirit is life. Could be considered the Life force.
Its what leaves your body, when your body dies.
Colossians 1:16, says that Jesus holds all of creation together.....so that would be the Power of God, who also created all things, by His Word.....and Jesus is the "Word".
John 1:10 says that Jesus was in the world, and the world was CREATED by Him.

Does the Spirit have the chance to live again in another body after death of this one?

The New Testament teaches that we can be "born again".......Spiritually.
This is to be JOINED, in Spiritual Union .. with God's Spirit......as "One with God, in Christ".

all christians do not agree to this.

also, the Spirit, or self's spirit = holy ghost is obviously the same as the one in genesis 1:2. this is what creates/forms the body as jesus said the spirit enliveneth.
