Do you like your lifestyle?

If so, why do you like it? If not, why don’t you like it?

Have you ever thought of changing your lifestyle?

Have you ever tried to change your lifestyle?

Have you ever been successful in changing your lifestyle? If so, were you happier?

Thanks, Trailblazer. :)

From tick bites in the last year, I know two people that have gotten Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) (also called alpha-gal allergy, red meat allergy, or tick bite meat allergy) is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.

They had to completely change their lifestyle away from red meat, pork and dairy. They said it sucks!

My life is okay but I need to get the vaccine so I can get outside more.
Do you mean so you can get out of the house and interact with people more?
I have not gotten the vaccine and that is the only reason I would get it but I feel I am safer just staying home away from people. I have my husband and my animals and communication with people on e-mail and on the forum, so for now that is enough. I have no idea what the future holds, I live one day at a time.

I have an okay lifestyle. I run in the morning, do school work and/or RF, go to work four times a week more on holidays. Come home. Sleep. Eat somewhere in between. Computer, meditate, go to bed.

I'm very grateful I have a job, I can go out on the trails and come home to safety. I'm not too much concerned with the world because I rather put important energy into things affecting me now and work etc.

If I changed I'd like better finances to travel outside the US.

What we eat is just a part of our lifestyle, but if food is important to us then it could be a big part. For me, food is not important and I could change my diet if I had to. I do not eat red meat, I hardly eat any dairy, but I do eat pork. However, I could easily switch to chicken if I had to.

When I said lifestyle, I was referring to one's style of living, the kind of place they life in, country or city, how they spend their time and money, whether they are social or reclusive, that kind of stuff. :)

But they always have cookouts, BBQ, etc for friends and family so its a big part of their lifestyle.

I love my life because I live and have my being in the love and joy of Jesus Christ. Everyday is one more step closer to an eternity in the fullness of His Presence.
Until then I live way out in the country with mountains, trees, birds, water, flowers, a huge vegetable garden, cats, dogs, goats, chickens, great neighbors, my husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. I have much to be grateful for.

I have lived in cities before. but back when I was younger. I did some very foolish, if not outright dangerous things back then. At one point, I decided I wanted to live in a rural, mountainous area. Later, I realized I needed the Savior and decided nothing was more important than following Jesus. My life has definitely been better. There have still been times of hardship and sadness, but I always am carried through by the love and peace of Christ.

Oh, now I see. I have no cookouts, BBQ, etc for friends and family so food is not a big part of my lifestyle.
My lifestyle revolves around animals, inside and outside, and I see no people except my husband and when i go grocery shopping twice a week. Before Covid I used to see people all day at work, but now I work from home so all communication is over the phone, e-mail and conference calls. I do not really miss seeing people but if I did not have people to talk to here I would probably have to find other activities.

Sounds nice. I also live in the country, about 12 miles from the city, in the beautiful state of Washington. I am not in the mountains but they are only about an hour away. My property has so many trees I can hardly find the house anymore and we lost our lake view to the trees, but the trees provide habitat for the wildlife so I won't cut them down.

I think it makes a big difference when one has family, especially when people get older. I have my husband but we never had any children so have no grandkids. Even though I have no family I have much to be grateful for but I do not feel grateful all the time. I am grateful to God that I am a Baha'i and also have Christ, but another part of me wants nothing to do with God or religion at all. This is an internal conflict I have to resolve and I work on it daily.

My life has been fraught with suffering so it is difficult to be grateful. Only recently has the suffering let up, but I never know what is just around the corner. I do see that God has a part in this suffering because God determines much of our fate. I never blame God for what I am responsible for and what I can control unfortunately that is not much.

Pretty much so. I've worked hard to get where I am in life. There's always room for expansion but I am very satisfied and happy.
I think that happiness is an inside job. I have many financial assets and more money than I could ever spend. I could retire tomorrow and never have to worry about money ever again but I have a job I like that brings in good money so I am going to continue working for now.

I think happiness is a state of mind and that is not something we have complete control over. I am not happy with my lifestyle but I cannot be sure that is the problem so it would not be smart to try to change my lifestyle even if I could change it, so for now I just live one day at a time.

I like parts of it. Parts of it I don't.

I like that I have the guts to be me. I don't like that I'm in an area where that 'me' doesn't blend well, and I find myself on the outside most of the time. The world's a wide place. There's somewhere I belong. Here isn't it.

I like my kids. I like my husband. I like my pets. I like my books, and the Barbies on the wall, and the collection of clothing I've amassed. I like homeschooling, and I like researching religion. I like that I have the space for two 'meditation rooms', one dedicated to pujas and the Hindu deities, and the other is somewhat of a museum full of esoteric nostalgia. I like that my BS tolerance is so high stuff that would consume another bounces off me and falls on the floor(sometimes literally).

I don't like Iowa. I don't like seeing field and fields of corn that no one will ever eat. I don't like the fake smiles. I'd rather have a genuine insult than a fake smile. I don't like that I have to drive two hours to get to my temple. I don't like that if I want to talk to another Hindu face to face, I have to make a doctor's appointment. I don't like signs and instructions telling me to 'connect online'. I don't like that not having Facebook excludes me from many activities(I like not having Facebook, though). I strongly dislike seeing QR codes on stuff. It creeps me out. I dislike that the few friends I do have seldom visit.

Would I change some of this? Yeah, but I'm just one member in the family, one citizen in the bunch. There's not much I can do about a lot of that currently.

I love my lifestyle, but I'm retired. Back when I had a stressful job, and we were raising teenagers, not so much. But now, heck yeah. I feel incredibly lucky.

I'm in good heath, give or take a few minor things that come with age.
I have time to worship, garden, write, watch the TV I choose to watch.
I get to select the people I hang out with.
I live 12 minutes away from a fantastic agamic Hindu temple. I could easily go twice a day. It provides opportunity for service. Currently I'm making garlands for the Gods and taking them over twice a week.
The city I live in is about as multicultural as you can get. Ethnic restaurants everywhere. I'm close to the grocery store, the druggist, my doctor, my dentist, a hardware.
I have a great marriage, 46 years now.
We have enough money to travel, perhaps 3 or 4 times a year for 2 to 3 weeks each time.
We just bought a new car.

Only thing better would be if I lived in Revoltistan.
