Most important is what we do our self

I believe the most important for a spiritual person should be how one speak, act and think our self, not what others should believe, think, act or say.

If one can not watch once own speech, action and thoughts, how could one think correcting others is wise?

I can't correct others.

I find myself pretty self-disciplined despite my plight(s), yes.

I have found my own being to be far from a person who would be able to righteous correcting others.

Some don't find correcting others their calling. And that's okay.

As for me, I've been following the Golden Rule lately except for in cases where it doesn't work. So I'm willing to critique others as part of me being open to some critique myself.

While I agree that individually, we should strive to live moral and ethical lives, I think that part of that is also working to correct injustices. And of course injustices are committed by others.

I am in a realization situation where I have to fix my own shortcomings for some time.

It strikes me that all honest people recognize that they have to work on their own shortcomings. But it also strikes me that part of that work should include helping the rest of the world. :)

All my life I been there for others, my father, my mom, my ex GF, friends and so forth. But did not see my own shortcomings as a person:)

Makes sense. Take the time to help yourself. It'll work out that you'll be able to help people better later should you need to, than if you didn't take that time.

What's the most important things for a non-spiritual person to do?

Ok, maybe not your line of expertise but I'm wondering what input others might have.

I can not tell others how to behave, believe or think :) my way of living my life has never been seen as the "norm" :)

I generally agree but some feel the need to fix the rest of us.
There was a time I assumed I could fix people. Kind of arrogant.
I know what's right for me. For you, you have to discover for yourself.

Someone explained to me once the symbolism of the cross, not the Christian cross but the Keltic cross.

The idea is the center bar symbolizes your ascent towards becoming a better person and the cross piece symbolizes that as you ascend you bring those around you up as well.

They probably made it up, but it sounded good.

This sentiment is based in the ideal that ALL of we humans are interested in self-reflection and self-correction. This simply isn't the case, and so the solution for this less than ideal situation must necessarily be less than ideal. That is, instead of letting everyone come to their own conclusions about what is most "right" for everyone, we necessarily must impose some ideas of what is "right" according to what does demonstrably create the best-case conditions for everyone. Which is why we impose our views on things like murder, and rape, and thievery on others. We want to make sure that even those who don't intrinsically feel that those things are wrong are still held accountable when they take those actions.

There is no way this ends until everyone really does try what you are proposing - that is, inspecting their actions, making sure they are the "best" they can be toward keeping themselves and everyone else out of harms way, and making sure they align themselves with this pattern. In other words... this is (however unfortunately) a pipe dream.

The OP is as you understand only my thoughts, so yes there can be other views too. I do not claim to know the truth for everyone:)

You are 100% correct.

What a wonderful world, if everyone did as you say.
