Embarrassing religious moments

My roman catholic friend years ago brought me on a church retreat. We were in line waiting for the charter bus. Someone from the church I think discussed about hell-fire and such. I looked at my friend and blurted "you believe this ...." she nodded. I never got to apologize but that was my first reaction and I don't even curse.

This is somewhat like the uncomfortable with religious environments thread but more geared to what you may accidently said/did because of the discomfort.

What about you?

One time I was just trying to open the church app and the Bible started playing right away during the pastor’s sermon. Another time my alarm on my phone went off during the preaching. I think both these times I was in the front.

One time my mom saw someone’s pants fall down during the singing. She put her hymn book in front of her face and was cracking up. We were trying to ask her what was funny but she was saying “ Nothing “. She told us what happened after service.

This concerns a newly ordained priest with lets say his own style. It was the middle of winter with several inches of show. Serving as a EOMHC and standing at the Altar during the consecration I happened to notice he was wearing sandals and had very hairy toes, I felt the grin, hoping no one noticed.

I once nearly lit up a cigarette in the middle of a long meditation session in a Buddhist shrine room. Oops!
And then there was the stuff I got up to as a Catholic altar boy... Hmm, maybe I won't go into that. :p
