Indelible You

I was going through the nightstand
Some things of yours were still
There
If I clear it out
It'll just be a year
Until I find something in there again
Indelible
Like the handprints once left on walls
But sometimes,
These walls feel like Juliet's tomb

I feel this one. Every once in a while I'll find a hair that belonged to my EX among my belongings. She had super thick hair, and it would shed and get everywhere. It ends up clumping on the insides of my hoodies and such. Whenever I find one if her hairs, memories that I don't think about anymore just come flooding in.

In this instance “going through the nightstand” was meant to be allegorical for something like conjuring memories, hence why items will always be found there later, unexpected. But I know exactly what you’re talking about; literally finding things is a thing too.
