This is a good story. We need more efforts like this:

A Jew, a Christian, a Muslim and a Baha’i: Welcome to Abrahamic House, an interfaith living community

At the moment, there’s only one Abrahamic House — in Los Angeles. And the inaugural class of residents moved in just before COVID-19 hit. But a second house will open Sept. 1 in Washington, D.C. Now all it needs is a (physical) house and people to live in it.

Applications for the D.C. Abrahamic House are open. Once the four fellows have been selected, they will be offered three possible sites for their house, Al Samawi said.

Being Abrahamic kind of limits the experiment.
What about Atheists or Wiccans?

For me, I welcome to speak with anyone from any religious belief

Me being an atheist, do you think you and I could get along?

I have no desire to impose my beliefs or lack of on you. Of course I'm happy to discuss different ideas but don't expect you to change because of it.

I suppose that is where we run into trouble, the need to have others accept our beliefs as the truth.

Yes, I believe we can get along well, of course there will be times we see part of life, or belief different. But should it stop us from getting along?

The most important is to be a loving and kind. If you believe in God or not do not matter

Many years ago in New York City there was a large inter-faith conference. It went on for several weeks, and focused, in part, on clarifying some basic practices and principals that all the various religions of the world (represented) agreed were valuable and fundamental to spiritual health and well-being. I don't know what all else came from that conference, but I do know that there were six basic principals and practices agreed upon, that were elaborated on and then published when the conference was over.

One of the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous happened to become aware of these six basic principals and practices and decided to try and use them help himself, and others, overcome the disease of alcoholism. At the time, there was no known biological component of the disease, so he assumed it was 'spiritual' in nature. He did succeed in getting and staying sober, with the help of others, by following those six practices and principals. And in time, as more and more people began to use them to recover from alcoholism, the process became a bit more specific, and elaborated upon, until the became the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. A recovery method that has saved the lives of millions of people, their marriages, their families, their businesses, their jobs, and their sanity. And using that 12 step model, there are countless other groups and programs intent of helping people recover from all sorts of addiction.

So I think there can be great healing, and spiritual power in interfaith activities. Even if for no other reason than it tends to stop that myopic egotism that befalls any group of humans that are united by an ideology. It forces them to see the other and alternative possibilities.

Now, if we could just get some republicans and democrats to meet and seek some common practices and principals.
