Nope, I don’t think like this but on the other hand where do you get your morality? If it’s legal it’s moral as in our society, no matter how debased it is?

Morality comes from a sense of fairness and compassion. Those are both typical of social species, at least for the 'in' group. The difference is that I consider all of humanity to be in the 'in' group.

So, yes, societies can be immoral if they disregard compassion and fairness. Deities can be immoral if they disregard compassion and fairness.

And, as you can see in my signature, my basic moral requirements are to think and care. Thinking requires learning about the world around us, understanding the consequences of our actions, and considering ignorance something to be removed. Caring means to care about how your actions affect others, attempting to help them achieve better knowledge and self-fulfillment, and realizing that people are and should be different.

Why do athiests spend hours defending their beliefs on the internet? Because it's their religion.
Santa Claus deniers generally don't care that much from what I have seen.

First, atheism isn't a belief system. it is a position on *one* rather trivial issue: whether a person believes in a deity. For atheists, the answer is NO; they do not believe.

ALL other questions, whether political, moral, aesthetic, or anything else vary from atheist to atheist.

Second, religion usually involves a belief in a supernatural. It may also involve the belief in deities.

Atheism isn't a religion since it does not have a set collection of beliefs in a supernatural. In fact, is has no set collection of beliefs at all: it's only characteristic is a *lack* of belief in deities. And that lack is usually (but not always) based on the lack of evidence for deities.

Are you being serious?
You are honestly claiming here that our knowledge that mammals reproduce by live birth "could be fabricated and made up"?

Really?

I had pizza yesterday.
But it could have also been a unicorn stake with magic beans.

According to you, apparently, it's 50/50

You're a funny guy.
Not saying any of that

So you just assume genocide was morally justified, because god said so?
Israel didn’t instigate the war, the other nation did, not justifying genocide but putting myself in that situation. We have limited information but in the text, given the information we have the Moabite nation wouldn’t leave the Israelites alone, were warned, were bent on driving them out, cursing and destroying them. This resulted in God judging that nation. My view is that God has all the information, He has been just and fair in my experience so I’m not going to side with your view on this but will land on God’s side of things. The women that were innocent were spared, do you know for sure about the rest? I know what is recorded.

The innocent women? Using modern language, the accurate translation would be, virgin preteen girls?

“Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.””
‭‭John‬ ‭20:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Where does it say Mary is alone by herself with no one else?
When she runs to tell Peter she says we do not know where they laid Him. So she wasn’t alone.
There was a lot going on that day from morning to evening, I would think when they found out Jesus body was missing, then they found out He had risen, people were pretty excited.
Why would they not mention her companions? They do in the other gospels. And the other gospels give different stories of her experience at the tomb and subsequesnt actions.

Please show anywhere in all your scripture where it deals with "the spoils of war" in a civilized manner.

And He struck them with blindness
Hey, don't bother fighting, just have God blind them all.
“This is not the way, nor is this the city.
Oops. He blinded the people of the wrong city. Oh, well.

and there they were, inside Samaria!
Ah, finally the right city. No war. No fighting. Peace was made with the enemy. Just let them go. If there was no war, then there re no spoils of war.

Meanwhile, a whole bunch of people got blinded because what - someone didn't know where he was? Your god, who did the blinding knew it was the wrong city and he blinded them anyway.

Please keep posting things like this to help me prove my point that your god's actions are atrocities.

As you can see, well maybe not… They were temporarily blinded. Then fed and hopefully learned how great the God of Israel is and that their was a prophet in there midst.

“So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria!”
‭‭II Kings‬ ‭6:20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I’m still wondering why you keep siding with the terrorist nations that want to destroy Israel.

Keep alive to do what with? Servents? In that case, the boys would have been kept alive to do farming. No. They were given for one thing only - to be sex slaves for your god's victorious soldiers.

Nope. Wives. It would have

Wives? Really? Are you really that naive?

In any case, would you want your eight and fourteen-year-old daughters to be given to the soldiers who have been ordered to kill your six-year-old son and his mother?

I see such atrocities as war crimes punishable by death.
You worship and defend a god who committed such atrocities.

Which of us is moral and which of us is immoral?

You realize that Israel is a nation because of the terrorists it produced? Ever hear of the bombing of the King David Hotel by Begin?

Israel is far from being without blame in things. In fact, ALL sides in this conflict have blood of innocents on their hands.

It’s a good thing we have law enforcement if we have neighbors that threaten our lives and our families, we can call the cops.

You seem to be implying that there were no laws and law enforcement at the time of the OT. Perhaps you need to read your bible sometime.

Proverbs 6:31 ESV
But if he is caught, he will pay sevenfold; he will give all the goods of his house.
Ezekiel 33:15 ESV
If the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
Exodus 22:1 ESV
“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
Exodus 22:4 ESV
If the stolen beast is found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he shall pay double.

If you think laws like these just came about because of the OT, I suggest you study some real history.

Thank-you for proving that the girls were in a lot better country than Moab, by the laws God has there is no way He authorized the rape of these women. Ruth, Rahab are both examples.

Santa Claus deniers generally don't care that much from what I have seen.

Perhaps that's because most people outgrow that fantasy before they reach puberty. Perhaps that's because older people no longer continually tell youngsters that Santa Claus is real. Whereas, with god, the indoctrination is continuous.

Why do athiests spend hours defending their beliefs on the internet? Because it's their religion.

I'll not answer for all atheists. For me, it's not just my atheist beliefs. I also challenge beliefs about many other things.

  • Things like bad science that recommends using things like chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine to prevent/treat COVID.
  • Things like bad science that posits that vaccines cause autism.
  • Things like dangerous nonsense that states that COVID vaccines contain a tracking chip.
  • Things like faith healing and talking to the dead.
  • Things like bad science that posits that gravity does not exist.
  • Things like bad science that posits that the ancients had powers lost through the ages.
  • Things like any and all forms of woo.
It's not just atheists challenging religious beliefs, it's rational people challenging the irrational.

What's next? Will you will be asserting that rationalism is a religion.

God didn’t and His laws prove

Yet you cannot show any laws to that effect.
All we have is your unsupported opinion.

Thank-you for proving that the girls were in a lot better country than Moab, by the laws God has there is no way He authorized the rape of these women.

You can deny all you want to. If it was your eight and fourteen-year-old daughters being given to the soldiers, perhaps you would feel differently. In the meantime, you will continue to defend your god's atrocities.

Ruth, Rahab are both examples.
Ruth is a woman's name. Rahab is what?

Do you think you can just write two names and expect anyone to say: "Wow! Those are really good examples". If you're too tired to even try to defend your position, just say so.

Wives? Really? Are you really that naive?

Yes wives, that’s what they were supposed to do, marry, don’t you believe that as well?

Well, you just answered my question about your naivety.

If you’re going to have sex with a woman you should marry her or are you into something else?

If I'm a soldier and God has just given me an eight-year-old girl and a fourteen-year-old girl, I should ponder what to do with them. What did God say to do with them? Nothing. He gave no instructions.
Where can I look to get divine guidance? Well, I could look to see what God commanded be done to their brothers - Kill them, regardless of age. I could look to see what God commanded be done to their mothers - Kill them, regardless of age. Hmm. OK. Do whatever I want as long as it's brutal, like god commanded about the brothers and mothers.

Do you really think the eight-year-old and fourteen-year-old girls want to have anything to do with the soldiers who just killed their father? Does it really matter if I marry them and then have forced sex with them?

I see you chose to ignore...

I would hope these questions made you uncomfortable. I doubt they did.
