If both the wicked and the righteous go to the same place(the grave) And are like in Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 why should the wicked be afraid of this?

So God is warning the wicked that if they do not change their ways, they will die. Just as he told Adam and Eve if they disobeyed they would die.

but the righteous will have the opportunity to live. the whole purpose of Jesus ransom was to provide a way to life as Romans 6:23 says "For the wages sin pays is death,+ but the gift God gives is everlasting life+ by Christ Jesus our Lord"
