How to prove God.

an anarchist

Your local anarchist.
I believe there is a simple way to prove God. It may seem too simplistic at first, but that's not the intention.
Throughout my life, there have been times when I have called out to God whilst being in mortal danger, and He saved me. When I pray, He answers without fail and shows me that He is listening. When I was younger, I required evidence (Christian apologetics) to reinforce my faith in God. Now, I don't need that to know that my God is real, He has proven Himself to me.
To those who are skeptical of the idea of God, the way to prove God is this. Allow yourself to suspend your skepticism momentarily and ask God (however you understand God) to reveal Himself to you. My God answers without fail.
To both the skeptic and the believer, this methodology may seem silly. The believer might say "God has revealed Himself completely through the Bible! We are not to test Him, He does not reveal Himself in the present day."
If a skeptic is on the fence as to whether God is real or not, let them do this. Simply ask God to reveal Himself. God will prove Himself to you.

Why does one need to "prove God."

I can breathe just fine without proving air.

How do you know that's what saved you?

When I pray, He answers without fail and shows me that He is listening

How?

To those who are skeptical of the idea of God, the way to prove God is this. Allow yourself to suspend your skepticism momentarily and ask God (however you understand God) to reveal Himself to you. My God answers without fail.

Why would I have to "suspend" my skepticism?
Could it perhaps be because this "proof" isn't able to withstand the slightest forms of scrutiny?

To both the skeptic and the believer, this methodology may seem silly
That's because it is.

The believer might say "God has revealed Himself completely through the Bible! We are not to test Him, He does not reveal Himself in the present day."
If a skeptic is on the fence as to whether God is real or not, let them do this. Simply ask God to reveal Himself. God will prove Himself to you.

I asked and nothing happened. Now what?

On a slightly related note though... This morning I asked Poseidon to make it rain today. And 'lo and behold, it's raining.

Tried it. Nothing happened.

I do not have the answer you may seek, but when you asked God to give you a sign or "proof" of existence, may it be that God did give you answer, but when you was looking for in an answer was different than what you got?
So even it was given to you, you missed it since you expected something different?

I could just as well turn that around.
You ask god for something, whatever it is, and then something random happens and you just assume it was god answering.

This is the problem with such "proofs". There is no objective verifiability. There is no repeatability. There is nothing there. It's all just mere belief.

Suppose you are a farmer and there's a nasty dry spell in the weather that is destroying your crops. You pray for rain every day. One day, sure enough, it rains - eventhough the weatherman didn't forecast any rain. Did god make it rain? How would you know?

What's more likely?
That there is an undemonstrable super being who rules the universe and who has galaxy upon galaxy to attend to and yet for some reason he takes specific interest in some slightly smarter ape on some insignificant planet in some insignificant corner of some insignificant galaxy while taking an extra special interest in what that ape does with other apes while naked?

Or that the weatherman made a mistake? Or that you made a mistake in interpreting whatever it is that you are assuming is "god answering"?

It's just mere belief from beginning to end.
There's nothing there.

Do you not think that many atheists have already tried this and failed?
I know, "You didn't try hard enough" or "You've got to have more faith"

I think i have a little different "relationship" with God than that my friend.
I do not ask Allah for something in my life, only ask for protection and wisdom so that i can get closer to Allah.
To assume it is from Allah is also not a wise thing to do. Because it is my own effort in life that will make the change for me, not Allah. Allah do guide me in the right direction :)

How do i know it is Allah? Because i believe so

Prayer and blessings have helped me a great many times, but "There is no witness until after the trial of your faith."

I was just answering your comment and pointing out that it is a two way street.
Yeah, sure, it "could be" that I "missed" the answer while expecting something else.
Just like it could be just as possible that others (you or someone else) assume it was a god while it wasn't.

How would you know which it is? You wouldn't. Which is exactly the problem. You can replace "god" with "undetectable intelligent dragons" and make the exact same claims and it wouldn't make a single shred of difference in terms of credibility.

Which brings me to my conclusion, which you were so kind to mention yourself:

How do i know it is Allah? Because i believe so

Indeed. You "believe" so.
I don't just believe things.

I asked God years ago to show me if He existed and now I believe.
Sceptics are no doubt not serious in their asking if they ask at all and may look for the wrong things as an answer.
But I imagine God would answer your question for a sincere person who is prepared to wait for an answer.

You said a very important thing, God may have given the skeptics answers but it does not mean the answer come right after the question was asked. and maybe the answer do arise from within us, and not as a physical answer

Or maybe you think that God gave you an answer but nobody gave you any answer at all? You see, both questions aren't practical to ask because they don't answer anything. They just beg the question.

I used to do this as a kid. I'd say "Surely God, you know what would convince me. Just give me that if you're real and then I'd know."

It never happened.

I was dead serious as a little girl losing faith when I asked for something, anything, that would be convincing. This does not work no matter the earnestness of the questioner.
