Historic heat wave forecast to hit the Pacific Northwest!

I hate hot weather! This weekend it is supposed to be 108 degrees where I live in the south Puget Sound area, and this heat wave is supposed to last for at least three days. The long range forecast looks like it will remain hot, but not this hot. I am really worried about how hot it is going to get this weekend. I am not worried for myself because I can take the heat even though I don't like it; I am worried about my seven Persian cats getting too hot. We have one bedroom that has a window air conditioner but it is very small, too small to cool off that big room which has vaulted ceilings. This is upstairs. We also have a downstairs that has almost as many sq ft as the upstairs but we never go down there anymore. It is much cooler down there but it is a long and very sad story why we never go down there anymore. :( Needless to say, I do not want to take all the cats down there unless I absolutely have to, if the upstairs gets too hot.

What did you do?:mad::mad:

Only a day or two it was supposed to get up to 90 here in Everett. Now it is going to be 98 on Monday according to forecasts. I am holding you personally responsible:mad::eek:

Don't blame me, blame God. I asked Him to call off the heat wave but I keep looking at the forecast and it remains the same....
I guess He has His cell turned off, as usual.

Ignorance is bliss and I was blissfully ignorant of this heatwave. I am no fan of excessive heat, but my housemate complains that it is "hot" when the temperature gets into the 80's. Perhaps this will reset her thermostat:D At any rate I probably will not talk to here at all on Monday. Be afraid, be very afraid:eek:

Could He send some over here, I've got 3 layers on and industrial thickness socks.

I like the cool pad but did you ever try to get a cat to stay in one place, unless it is the place the cat chooses to stay?
I'll bet it never gets this hot where you live.... it does not usually get this hot here either, this is historic.

And rather than dealing with climate change, some won't even spend time chasing their own tails preferring the less productive attacks on people's lifestyles, sexual preferences and right to vote.

This is the earliest that I have ever seen summer arrive. I remember cussing the weather out one July 3rd when I had to turn on the heat.

I was also blissfully ignorant because I live one day at a time, in the moment.... then the hubby turned the TV news on. Then I had to check the Weather Channel on the computer... so now I know what I did not want to know. :(
It is hot when it is n the 80s but I normally do not complain till it is in the 90s because that is when the cats might be at risk.... I used to live in Tuscon, AZ and Redding, CA and it gets much hotter there but we had central air.

What's the deal? It is only going to be 99 in Everett on Sunday, but it is going to be 108 here in Olympia... I guess God must like you better than me.

Yes there is that issue. One of ours uses it but the other one doesn't want to know. I just thought I'd suggest it - maybe with so many cats if you got a couple or three someone might use them!

We have AC downstairs but the cats like to dleep on the spare bed upstairs so we leave a fan running in there during hot weather.

Cats are sensitive to temperature and can find a warm spot in winter and a cool spot in summer so don't panic.

On the plus side, Mar-a-Lago is going to get submerged. :p

Is this climate change? I guess so, and I don't like it!
One individual heatwave is weather. It is the pattern of heatwaves that is climate change. There are more new record highs every year than new record lows. If there was no climate change they would be roughly equal.
