What's the difference between prana and consciousness? that and prana and qi?

I know they are different; what are their differences?

Prana is what gives you the ability to post here. Consciousness is awareness of it.

Looking up prana and qi on the internet, prana is a Hindu concept meaning roughly "life force". Amazingly, qi means "life force" for the Chinese. Glad you askes that question. Because you asked that question I looked them up in curiosity, now I know something new.

Kudos to your own curiosity.

Yeah. I was looking up different vague but similar in context:

God (label for...not an entity*)
Life
Qi
Ki
Prana
Chi
Spirit*
Life force
Vitality
Mana
Essence
Breathe
Ashe
Vital force
Spark
Divinity

And percieved as/or

Something greater
Creative spirit
Oneness
Cosmos
Nature
Mystery
Mystery of one's being
Consciousnes
Soul
State of egolessness
Higher self

Among others.

Various practices roughly listed

Sacrifice
Scripture
Ritual
Ancestors, deity, human mediums
Offerings
Service
Yoga
Writing and symbols
Elements
Art
Movement
Behavior/ones action
Prayer
Meditation

I haven't looked at all the context since they are all based in secrecy, tradition, and experience, but I thought it interesting.

Was bored.

Prana and qi are the same thing a form of life energy.

Consciousness is something completely different. It is the fundamental base of reality that is awareness and being.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Can you rephrase?

Sorry. I was thinking that consciousness has two definitions-one specific to the brain/mind (western philosophical sense) and the other I guess an eastern interpretation of it. Prana for example, isn't a common word in our western point of view when it comes terms of spirituality. Energy would be the closest definition from a less holistic view.

In a western philosophy (Plato, Socrates, where we get our definitions of soul) sense awareness has to with the mind.

Since eastern interpretations have a stark difference, is there a different definition of awareness and how it relates to prana?

I hope that helps.

More like life energy for the subtle bodies that interpenetrate the physical body (the etheric body and astral body).

I was looking up yesterday the five pranas. Different prana energies for subtle layers of the body and which part of the body that responds to specific healing yogic poses.

Is astral and/or etheric related to this?

I don't know the terms but the lady in the video explained it in simple terms.

(Anyone interested)

I was speaking from the Eastern perspective on consciousness.

I don't see a specific relation between consciousness and prana, as in my understanding, the latter is a product of Maya and exists only in transactional reality, while the former transcends this reality.

Maya as in delusion?

Prana would be part of the (how to say) physical world but not reality that exists without Maya?

I'm wondering, that's true, prana exists as maya because without the physical body, prana no longer exists in it???
