Offerings to Maa Durga

Ashoka

श्री कृष्णा शरणं मम
I want to honor Mother Durga, but I want to make sure I am doing it correctly...if that makes sense? what types of offerings does she like?

I’m not Shakta but you can’t go wrong with flowers. I’ve read there are “rules” for what offer and not to offer to whom, e.g. no tulsi for Ganesha, but on the whole I don’t think you can go wrong with flowers and fruit. At the evening Shiva and Parvati aarti the priests have a tray with the diya and apples and offer that to Maa.

Apply a dab of your favorite perfume to her feet. Offer her a fragrant flower. During pujas we do that with "Sugandhim samarpayāmi".
How to conduct a traditional 16-step Hindu puja
(samarpayāmi - I humbly offer ..)
  1. Anulepana or gandha. Perfumes and ointments are applied to the image. Sandalwood paste is applied. (Gandham samarpayāmi)
  2. Pushpa. Flowers are offered before the image, or garlands draped around its neck.(Pushpam samarpayāmi)
  3. Dhupa. Incense is burned before the image. (Dhupam samarpayāmi)

Like others have said can’t go wrong with flowers and fruit.
I do know that during festivals, devotees worship her different forms.
Each has their own “taste” as it were. But as you’d likely guess, each of these items are also considered favourites by Maa Durga, so you can offer them at any time to receive her blessings
Flowers and fruits loved by Nava Durga during Navaratri
Maa Durga favourite food

Jai Mata Di!
I have always offered a piece of fruit and water. No particular type of fruit, either, just whatever I happened to have on hand. And I have never gotten the feeling that she disliked any of my offerings. :)

Was I a shakta during my theist days? No I was not. I was a Shaiva or a Rama, Krishna worshiper. But they are not complete without Mothers Parvati, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Sita and Rukmani. So, in that way I was shakta also.

Yes, to worship one and not the other is like only doing one half of a job
