Nothing fails like Bible history.

I have been following a YouTube series lately where the YouTuber goes over how history does not support the Bible. The latest one was particularly good.

And the most recent episode:

The Old Testament accounts are not accurate at all. I don't believe there was any conquering of Canaan, but that's just my personal belief, it is not put forth by Baha'i Writings. I believe in evidence.

I do not think monotheists / Abrahamics go by any evidence except that in their own books. Circular Reasoning (did not add a related image).

The problem is that not only do literalists think that they are, so do many of the Jews that live in Israel. They use that as an excuse to justify their acts against the Palestinians.

Outside of stories that are morality teaching stories, others could reflect real events that were rewritten and mythologized into their current form.

But no matter what, you're right about how some abuse the stories.-

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
The problem is, if a real place or person is mentioned , then the rest must be true.

That's the thought process behind class 101 Bible believing.

One of the first lessons my Master told us:
Many people take these historic events literally, and so they miss out on the valuable lessons from these stories

This is how I deal with history. No need for me to know whether it's true or not; I rather search for the deeper meaning in the stories

In Joshua 10:12-14 we are told that during a battle, the sun stood still midday or about 12:00 p.m. in order to help the nation of Israel completely defeat the armies of five Amorite kings.

I suppose the Earth would have to suddenly stop rotating in order for the Sun to suddenly be motionless in the sky.

If the Earth stopped spinning suddenly, the atmosphere would still be in motion with the Earth's original 1100 mile per hour rotation speed at the equator. All of the land masses would be scoured clean of anything not attached to bedrock. This means rocks, topsoil, trees, buildings, animals, and so on, would be swept away into the atmosphere. Because evidently nothing or nobody from any ancient civilization had apparently actually ever been hurled away at supersonic speed into the atmosphere, I seriously doubt the Sun could have then actually been motionless in the sky.

Being a miracle, it's possible that the deity involved simply transferred all that angular momentum to someplace else...Maybe Venus!:D
