And He Shall Be Called a Nazarene

Thank you for you reply.

I have replied at length to the suggestion of "branch" or "spout." Basically, the Matthew verse makes it clear that it is Jesus residing in Nazareth that is the fulfilment of the prophecy. Thus the prophecy must refer to this, not to some branch or sprout theory.

I was not sure what your second point was... I read it through twice... It seemed to be a repeat of your first point, the branch theory.
.
Hello IndigoChild5559 Thankyou for your reply! Jesus is a shoot of Jesse
The second point is.....Jesus’ Nazareth residence is the providential fulfillment of the Messiah’s mission not only for the Jews but all nations, ... There are Two (2) possible explanations... Take your pick!
The word Nazareth, and a similar-sounding Hebrew word netser, which is translated as “sprout,” “shoot,” or “branch.”
Isaiah prophesizes that a “branch” (netser or netzer) will sprout from the stump of Jesse (the father of David).
IndigoChild5559 Jesus is that branch, he sits on David's throne in heaven!

I add.... To me finding error in Matthew 2:23 seems very trivial .. Just saying tis all!

You would be surprised how many folks think he indeed did.
All Jews know the greatest commandment!
35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind
.
38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

This isn't what I was talking about, nor is there a commandment considered 'the greatest' within Jewish thought. I am talking about those ill-informed Christians who think Jesus invented these mitzvot.

Again, you say there are two possibilities. I only see one. The only one is I see is the "branch" theory, which I have already disproven. What is the second one?

I'm not a Mormon .
I never said you were LDS. You claim to be a Chrisitan, so my assumption is that you believe the standard "Jesus is God the son" line. It is contradicted by statements about the nature of God in the Tanakh, as I've already said.

Yes she will be presented to Jesus Holy and without wrinkle in heaven..... BUT it is still the One Church Jesus established 2000 years ago built on Rock not sand non other but the Catholic Church with roots going back to Mary and the apostles!

When church is referred to in the NT there is of yet no centralization of the individual churches,
The writer does not speak explicitly of relations between these Churches and the universal Church. Paul does not mention 'one single church', though he affirms the unity of the 'body' which is the Church.

From the root of Jessie will come a shoot

Romans 15:12 And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.

Hello pearl... Jesus mentions One Church.... I will build my Church (singular) on rock! (not on sand)
Paul was threating and imprisoning Christians.. One Church means; One Belief, one Body.. Not the many buildings!
Acts 9:4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied
.

Paul traveled to Jerusalem to speak to the Peter the Chief Apostle.. The Church Jesus established has the AUTHORITY of God to teach all nations, the Church also has the Authority of God to make disciples (Children for God) of all nations by Baptizing them!

Peter added 3000 people to the Church (the Body of Jesus) the first day of Pentecost!
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Muffled

Jesus in me
This thread really had a foregone conclusion, didn't it? :p

There is no such prophecy, The end.

But folks will trying spinning it.

I believe you are right about a forgone conclusion. The Bible says there was a prophecy so there was one.

Muffled

Jesus in me
JUst a side not. The prophets did not take dictation from God. They had dreams and visions. They chose what words to convey their messages. I think it is important to remember this. But that is another topic.

Item: we know that Moses did not write the Torah, or at least all of it. From textual criticism, we now understand that the Torah splices together the writings of more than one author.

Third, God may say many things. God speaks to me, but what he says to me personally is only for me. Not for people a thousand years in the future, for example. Unless it is in the written canon, the message is not meant for anyone other than the time in which it was spoken.

I believe I let God do my typing for me so it is not so far fetched for Moses to take dictation.

No it doesn't say God cannot become flesh ,does it . And does it say " God is not a man " and ends at that ? or is their a specific context that your over looking?

It says something about the NATURE of God -- "God is not a man." Thus if someone is a man, they cannot be God and God cannot be them.

Explanations, theories, whatever. the point is you keep saying two but keep giving me only one, and the one you keep giving me I have already disproven.
