No I would have probably insured that there was a plan put into place to verify the claims.
But of course as per your last statement, you probably don't care if there was massive fraud involved.
Well, we had a plan in place to guard us against a pandemic, and to react to one as quickly and efficiently as possible. But because that was set up by democrats, Trump and his republican cohorts couldn't eliminate it fast enough, the first moment they got the chance. So that when it did happen, we were totally unprepared for it. Then the republicans decided to just ignore it and pretend it was going to go away on it's own. Which of course it didn't. So the fact that the Unemployment Administration wasn't ready for a massive influx of claims due to a pandemic wasn't really the primary problem, was it. The primary problem was a predicted pandemic, and the republicans complete incompetence in dealing with it.
What we should have done, and should still do, is set up an emergency plan for reacting to the various scenarios that would cause a similar economic collapse. So that the next time something like this happens, we will be ready for it both medically AND economically. For example, we should have been able to suspend all unessential commerce for some period of time without anyone losing anything, and then had emergency funds already on hand and available, with a means to distribute it, to maintain the essential commerce that's required to keep everyone alive and safe through it. Other nations managed to do some of these things even without preparing in advance.
