But just as quantum pairing is not affected by distance.
It might be possible in a way that we do not understand, and may not be available to humans.
It might be common amongst other life forms elsewhere in the universe.

What is telepathy btw? Is it a function of the Jungian collective unconscious? A manifestation of empathy? Or a Vulcan mind-meld?

I've had one experience with telepathy and one with precognition.

One evening, years ago, my then six-year old daughter was in her bedroom, my wife was with her. My daughter, stalling, her usual bedtime routine, called out to her brother down the hall. She had a deck of cards, she would think of a card and he would try to guess. He missed three times.

Sitting on the bathroom toilet at the time, I tried and got a blurry image of a queen of clubs. I was right. In all, she sent and I received 13 cards without a miss before she tired of the game and quit sending.

If I had guessed 13 cards in a row, the experience could be explained as an extraordinary coincidence. But I didn't guess. Extraordinary coincidence doesn't explain visions.

Why would it need to be a question of belief? If you define the specific phenomena you're describing as telepathy, it could be studied and tested.

Maybe, but don't think its anything like radio. I think it is hit or miss, and if it works I don't know how. What's really difficult is that our brains have two hemispheres, so we can get intuitions that seem like communications but are good guesses. For example you could have a dominant left brain and a right brain that isn't always good at communicating but has superior intuition. Each person is also different with no two brains identical.

Well, I guess how one defines it. I did had two years of what I call "spiritual connections" or "premonitions", which I never believed in prior to going through that chain of events. As one whose orientation has been towards science for over 60 years now, I am at a loss to figure out how this was possible-- but it happened and it kept happening over that time span, leaving me bewildered until near the end.

I do not believe in it but I don't dismiss it outright. There have been (and still are) scientific studies that found no significant positive result (by an arbitrary threshold). So, if it exists, it is so rare and unreliable that it has no practical value.

It has been studied and tested. A minority of scientists say that the issue of existence was settled 60 years ago at Duke University. The majority disagrees. The minority claims the majority is biased and they simply raise the bar for proof to an absurd level. Because of my personal experience, one time each with precognition and telepathy,, I'm sure the minority is correct.

There have been countless experiments since and the same conflict still exists.

The existence of precognition and telepathy conflicts with the philosophy of Materialism, a belief common to scientists. They also conflict with the current explanation for the physical universe which, taken together, probably explains the bias.

I see no logical reason for me to "believe in" or to "disbelieve in" telepathy, or a great many other things. I am happy and quite willing to simply let the many mysteries of existence be what they are.

That doesn't mean I don't enjoy speculation, and even debate. But ultimately, proclamations of belief just don't seem prudent.
