Use to be fascinated with the idea of Ghost, demons, and talking with the dead. Believed a long time ago that there was the possibility for me to be able to use magic to slow time down, and could control fire with my hand which the flame came from a lit candle, played on the Ouijia board many times in life with others, and by myself, also liked to go on Youtube and find the most scariest ghosts clips, or anything to with the unknown, darkness, evil, because do remember growing up also watching videos from the internet that involved these two men who were beating a drunken man in the face with a hammer close or nearby a bridge, it has been a long time since have seen that video and many other gross horrible things of what happens to humans when they end up badly hurt, injured, murdered.

I suppose it depends on what distinction you draw between demons and ghosts. Is demon a catch-all term for any malevolent spirit or are demons a distinct category of beings?
If demon is a catch-all term then a poltergeist could very well be a ghost and a demon simultaneously. If demons are a different species (for want of a better word) to ghosts, you would need to come up with some means of distinguishing between the two. I'm honestly not sure how you would even attempt to do that.

Any apparition seeming to be a “dead person”, is a demonic imposter, trying to further the lie told to Eve, “You positively will not die.”
The dead....are dead. The only hope for them, will be the Resurrection! John 5:28-29. Acts of the Apostles 24:15.

If they're demons, how does hanging around in delapidated buildings further Satan's agenda? Seems like a demon could spend their time and energy doing something fare more useful.
What’s the history of those buildings? Did someone die, or get murdered, in them?
They’re pretending to be those people, Simple enough. To promote the idea that the ‘dead are still alive’ - immortal - in some other realm.
It’s working....in just about every culture and religious group, they have beliefs that their ‘ancestors are alive & well’! And it’s easy to get people to believe that, because it’s what most want to believe anyway. The demons’ activity in impostering the dead, just reinforces those false ideas.
This belief in immortality - an immediate afterlife at death - really nullifies the Bible’s teaching of the Resurrection, which promises a future coming back to life for the dead. With immortality, there’s no need to come back to life...they already are.
I could tell you some specific stories about the demons’ deceptions!

Don't know, but loved the movie.
I think poltergeists are most often people that have left this world and are still unsettled with earthly affairs so they are still 'acting out' on the physical plane.
