Hmm... in some cases, I find it also to be who caves under pressure.

I've learned... it probably doesn't matter.

The moments that seem so intense and important fade, often to be forgotten completely. Dear friends become strangers. We might feel choked by a financial situation at some point, years later having that seem unreal. Messes get made. Messed get cleaned. Things break, and are fixed or replaced(or simply done without).

The less focus we put on these endless meaningless things, the more energy we have for the few things that really do(though that will vary from person to person on what that is).

That would be when things get real wouldn't it?

Sometimes. But there's a difference between someone who flakes because they just don't want to deal with it and someone who melts down and doesn't show. Intention, I suppose, is what it comes down to.

I can't hold it against someone if they're not mentally able to handle something, personally. I know others see it differently, and that's okay.

I have learned who NOT to rent my houses to.... the hard way. :(
I have learned that a BIG house is not really what I want or need.... the hard way. :(
I have learned that a new career was not really what I needed...
I will refrain from going on about what I have learned from being married for over 35 years, at least for now. ;)

But that's true, when he dies I am going to GET everything! ... if he goes first, and at the rate he is going with his health that could be sooner than later. :( Know any men about my age who need a wife? I come with a lot of assets although most of them are financial. :D

I learned that almost invariably whenever I post something quickly I will make at least one typo and I will only see it when I am given a rating at which time I fix it and beat myself up for making a stupid mistake...

I could do quite a list. One is - during my 51+ years of marriage to the same women, I learned how to translate her words (See the book "You Just Don't Understand" for details about typical male/female communication patterns).

Along the way I learned that her faults are cute - in other words, part of who she is and it's not up to me to tell her to change.
