Am I suppose believe that infinity, in all its cosmic glory, which I label as God, handed us all the secrets of our existence in a nice and neatly little wrapped book written by men?. If that were so I’d have to say that I wasn’t impressed with God. I’d probably turn atheist at that point. I think God is more than capable and easily equipped to deliver things that, by their very nature, are lacking in evidence. Furthermore, God is capable of revealing how these things came about.

Never found hidden gems in a book.
Books are a good start though.

God is greater than the universe. It emanates from the infinite mind of God and is solidified by the Word and will of God.

The scriptures are not the only thing that God wants to share with us. But he did share that and will share more for those who listen. According to John the world could not contain the amount of books that would need to be written to record all the things that Jesus did and said. (John 21:25)

Maybe it depend on how you read the scrpture? Are you reading it letter by letter and that is it, or do you sitt down and ponder about the scripture day and night? Maybe reading the scripture cover to cover and then think you find the "hidden wisdom" without you being a part of the pondering about what the text actually means does not work,

Maybe you have to "become" a part of the teaching before the hidden wisdom opens uo to you?

Na, I’m referring to any book really. I’ve read enough. There came a time in my life when I had to look at reality.

These books are to assist us to grow spiritually. The more we do, the better we understand them. But one thing to understand is that these Holy Books are in accord with science and reason and any interpretation which does not agree with logic and reason is incorrect. There are many interpretations which are superstitious such as Christ literally descending on clouds. This is figurative language not literal.

Here’s a hidden gem I found in a book recently. I only just discovered Mikael Bulgakov. It’s like falling in love again, when you come across a writer who blows your mind on almost every page...

"Infinity" didn't hand us the secrets to existence in a book written by men. Men did that; they penned their understanding (and in some books, their lack thereof) of God.

I am curious, though. By what means, in your view, is God...infinity...whatever you want to call it...capable of revealing the secrets to our existence?

Pronoun antecedent is unclear. God or the universe emanates from the mind of God?

Oh good. Another that claims to have an understanding of what God wants.

What about magazines? Are we including those?

If so, I wonder what existential secrets can be found in Mad or Cracked?

I found the couple of copies of Oz that u found tucked away in a box in the barn to be quite enlightening

I also buy copies of Private Eye and Charlie Hebdo when i see them on the shelves. Both are a storehouse of secret knowledge ;-)

Idk do they?
I don't think so.

I suppose some of the sola scriptura Protestants might be thought to tend in that direction but even they, generally, acknowledge that the bible needs interpretation and leaves plenty to be filled in - or guessed at - by believers.
