Thank you for viewing, and please let me assure you that I was not sure where to post this between scriptural debate, and bible debate. Would there be a better place to put it @Staff Members if it is not in the correct area. May all of you take care, and have a good day.

These are some of the bible scriptures one from the Old Testament, and the rest from the New Testament.

What are your thoughts about the Holy Spirit as a Teacher?

Please remember:
There are more scriptures around the posted scriptures so please take time to look at the suggested context with these scriptures and see what you think about what The Lord Jesus Christ has to say about the Holy Spirit, and it's teaching abilities.

Nehemiah 9:20 (NAS)
20 "You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, Your manna You did not withhold from their mouth, And You gave them water for their thirst.

Luke 12:12 (NAS)
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."

John 14:26 (NAS)
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

1 Corinthians 2:13 (NAS)
13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

1 John 2:27 (NAS)
27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

Basically, everything I've learned about God, Jesus Christ and His gospel, I have learned from the Holy Ghost. Concepts or ideas may have been introduced to me through the scriptures or in church, but in my opinion, the only way we can conclusively come to the truth is through the witness of the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit.

Seems fine to me where it is. FYI "@Staff" does not tag anyone, you'd have to @ us individually. I just happened to read this. :)

If any thing like a holy spirit teaches, there would be a universal uniformity throughout.

You would be right about this Twilight Hue. If everyone universally accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and received the holy spirit which is promised to believers.

Yes, I believe that the Scriptures that you quoted do testify to the Sprit's work in teaching and strengthening the believer, and that there aren't any other verses that contradict these principles.
The only aversion, or indignation rather, that I have in regard to this are those who claim to be inspired by the Spirit in one manner or another. In other words, if that were true, then all the tenets that they hold to would be infallible and beyond contention. Therefore, such an audacious claim as '...the Spirit told me...' invariably has an air of contempt surrounding it, especially when the alleged teaching by the Spirit appears to be rather absurd and Biblically untenable.

I believe if you wished to include other scriptures such as the Qu'ran with its statement that Jesus was given a spirit then you would include it under scriptural debates. If yo wish to just debate the Bible then it comes under Biblical debates.

I believe Holy Spirit is often used interchangeably with the Paraclete but they are not the same thing. I believe the Holy Spirit teaches through out scripture but the Paraclete only teaches in the NT and onwards.

I believe those things learned through scriptures and the church may not be truth but they are what you have learned and sometimes the falsehoods have to be unlearned when Jesus tells you what is true.

Jesus in me
So, now you know everything there is to know in this area? Even Jesus never made that claim.

I believe He did make that claim and that is available to me also provided that God wishes any particular thing to be known. My experience is that He tells us what we need to know. All of His knowledge would be more than we could handle.
