Why I Am Avoiding Florida

As a trend-setting hipster, I've been into avoiding Florida since the day that I was born.

It's a shame that it's becoming so commercialised these days.

I'll probably have to take up avoiding Wyoming to stand out from the crowd.

I will not live in a state that is:

a) South of the Mason Dixon Line and
b) makes one syllable words into two syllable words and
c) is Republican

You’re probably right, they wouldn’t let your sort live there.
Yeah, if you don't fit in to their rigid mold they'll tell you to leave and treat you like garbage.
I plan on never going back to one. People are way nicer and more friendly when they aren't beating you upside the head with a Bible.

That’s funny, they didn’t have a problem with me and I’m a Jew. It must be something else about you.... Maybe it has something to do with your attitude and how you put on airs.

Of course it's me; I don't worship any sort of god; I'm trans; I'm not Conservative; I dress different; I have facial piercings; I question authority; they are so bad that my enjoying live action role playing was a reason one of those ******** told me to leave. I was a nail sticking out they couldn't drive in, and they hated it. They see someone free of their expectations, free of their standards, and it gets under their skin. They can't handle it.

Why don’t you avoid the states with highest Covid rates like New Jersey and New York? Florida is 27th down the list of state rates for Covid.
Coronavirus Updates (COVID-19) Deaths & Cases per 1M Population | RealClearPolitics

On the other hand, maybe Florida doesn’t want you visiting anyway.

Why not refrain from abusing statistics in order to make a false claim. If you look at the daily COVID cases, Florida has been #1 for quite some time. NY and NJ had serious problems in the early days of the pandemic. Florida's doing all it can to catch up.

Because THIS thread is about Florida.
The first clue is in the title.
But then, you also completely missed all the other clues in the OP...

Now if you have taken the time to actually read the articles, you would know the very first one is about the Governor of Florida claiming " ‘We are no longer in a state of emergency’ "
and then the next THREE links reveal that the Governor is just plain flat out wrong.

And what makes you think I do not avoid New Jersey and New York and Michigan and Ohio and Illinois?
In fact, I also avoid going outside of my yard and only do so to go shopping...

So how about you get off your high horse, actually read what you are replying to, and stay on topic?
Or is that beyond you?

Meanwhile, we're getting back on track in the Republic of California and heading towards a much safer reopening. Unlike Florida with over 3000 new cases a day.

So basically you are cowering in your basement crying “the sky is falling”. The facts are the number of Covid cases in Florida are way down and continuing to drop. Some emergency.
