Except that it is not that I won't be a donor.
It is that I can not be a donor.
Not even blood.
When they type my info in the computer at blood drives, I am rejected every time.

I understand. You would be a donor if you could. But still it is a sub-category. You won't be a donor because you can't, not because of a choice.

Well you always could lie about your condition:rolleyes:

Seriously there are a host of medical reasons that a person could not done. Being HIV positive is one obvious one. There are some cancers that can be spread via donations. Your case is another. That is why there should be no judgment if one hits "won't donate". Many people are a "would if I could".

Here in France everyone is a potential organ donor, unless they request not to be. People who don't want to donate organs if they die, can fill in a form and they'll be put on a special list. Everyone else can have their organs harvested for donation if they die of an accident or something else that doesn't damage the organs. It simplifies things, I guess.
I never gave much though to that issue, but if I die, I won't need my organs anymore, so someone else can have them.

I want to be cremated. I find it creepy to donate an organ(s) to tell you honestly. Right now, no. When I'm dead, they can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't put a financial burden on my family.

I'm watching an episode of Nova about organ transplants.
One odd claim....Canuckistanians are less prone to donation.
True or not...I wanted to survey RF about it.

If you won't be a donor, please explain why.
Let this not descend into criticism of people's choices, eh.

BTW, I'm donating everything....whether they want it or not!
Well, this Canuckistanian has signed his donor option on his driver's licence for as long as he's had one (more than 40 years, I was a late-comer to automobile ownership).

But I have to point out your question (not your poll) is misstated. I am not an organ donor yet, though I plan to be on my demise (if anybody can find anything useful).

I am. Not sure as to how useful my innards will be, but, I certainly won't need them when I've left this world.

You can still be an organ donor while alive.
You serve as an excellent storage facility for
someone else's life saving organs.

I've been signed up to donate for quite some time. At my age, the probable only recipients are student surgeons looking to practice on any available body.

Or if buried "bottoms up", you could serve as a bicycle rack.
