I'm watching an episode of Nova about organ transplants.
One odd claim....Canuckistanians are less prone to donation.
True or not...I wanted to survey RF about it.

If you won't be a donor, please explain why.
Let this not descend into criticism of people's choices, eh.

BTW, I'm donating everything....whether they want it or not!

When I asked for a new ID...I was given a form. To fill out.
Biological testament. There was the question: "do you want to donate your organs when you're dead?".
I wrote yes. :)

Aye, donating is doable when alive, but best when already dead.

I don't have an organ to donate. Never really learned to play. I recall giving away a toy piano when I was a kid. Would that count?

You are missing the option "Can't be a donor"

Green shmeen, I am still opting for the Viking funeral:p

And I am getting up there in years. I don't think that they will be harvesting anything from me. <sigh>
Same here.
But I'm still donating me corpse for research, teaching, & practical jokes.

That would be a sub-category of "Won't be a donor". People may have a valid reason for not donating. I do not see any implied judgment there, but there is no doubt that some would judge improperly about some in that category.
Except that it is not that I won't be a donor.
It is that I can not be a donor.
Not even blood.
When they type my info in the computer at blood drives, I am rejected every time.

"Won't" implies choice.
"Can't" means one is unable to make the choice,
eg, a body ravaged by disease, parasites, old age,
& substance abuse would be rejected.
