Jesus' Four Failed Prophecies About Him Returning In The Lifetimes Of His Apostles

You are right. "Her". The Bible can be made to say anything but MY interpretation is the only correct one:rolleyes:

For those that claim it is "God's word" and infallible as a result they might want to think about that for a second or two.

No. The Bible cannot be made to say anything. That is a gross exaggeration.

I believe that the Scriptures are inspired –God-breathed (theopneustos). I mean, of course, the Scriptures themselves, not prophets, not authors. We need eyes to see, and not just look; ears to hear, and not just listen.

That too... (Her personal attacks. ;))

'She' likely knows this......
As I always say, the Bible can be made to SAY anything you want it to SAY ~~~ Quite a book! :D
So if you want a Trinity doctrine you can create one by finding a mishmash of verses and misinterpreting them to SAY what you want them to say, slapping them together, and now you magically have a God made up of 3 parts.

By contrast, if you ask me about the Baha'i Trinity belief that has God as One, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit working with the One God, I can explain how that actually works and it makes logical sense and is supported by the Bible.

“A God made up of three parts”?
These are the words of someone who is shackled by literalism.

The person who says that the Trinity is ‘logical’ and that they have ‘proof’ of this, knows nothing about the Trinity.

I was thinking more along the lines of his endless personal attacks. But that seems to be another one. The problem with the Bible is that it is endlessly self contradicting so creative interpretation is a must at times. He likely knows this which is only one of many reasons he runs away from reasoned debate.

No, I don’t run away from reasoned debate.

If one reads the Bible in a literal fashion it certainly does seem to be contradictory. I said this repeatedly, to whoever would listen, when I was an atheist. The guidance of the Holy Spirit helped me see spiritual sense.

Personal attacks, eh? I have quite a long list so far. Not endless, but interesting none the less.

Once again you make false charges and demonstrate that you do not even know what assumptions are, or are you just lying? I did not assume, your incredible incompetence here tells me that you lost. But then you can probably convince yourself that even though you had your donkey handed to you that you lost.

However, I have not lost many debates by trying to use logical fallacies. I know that this is true, and so I know that your accusation is false. It matters little to me whether you believe me or not; what matters to me is that I know that you are throwing false accusations around, and displaying no insight whatsoever.

And you are still demonstrating the traits of a threatened person.

Confirmation bias.

They were. Your errors were even explained to you. You only confirm my hypothesis that you have lost many debates by trying to use logical fallacies. You simply do not understand how to apply them.

And I feel exactly the same about your lack of understanding, SZ.

LOL! NO, you troll, you tell falsehoods. You make claims that you cannot back up. That is exactly what a threatened person would do. You do everything except for the one thing that a person that was not threatened would do. I wonder if you can figure it out.

It is amazing how you do not realize how you just put yourself down in your post. My oh my!

Ah! A post “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. (The Bard)

Here is just one example of your irrational claims:
You offer many examples of what “most Christians” do or don’t do. Just one example is “Most Christians hardly read the Bible at all”. This cannot be supported since you don’t know/have not questioned most Christians. You said yourself that a wise person would have asked questions first before making claims that they cannot support. Maybe you should start asking those questions.

I see. Reading comprehension may be your problem. The Bible can, and has, been used to support both sides of topics such as even slavery. A book that can go to such extremes is said to be able to say anything. It may have been an exaggeration, but only s minor one.

Actually you do. Or rather you did. Several times in this thread. You forgot that you tend to jump into topics uninformed and then get irritated when others refuse to bring you up to speed. You challenged me on a topic and then ran away when I tried to start a discussion on it.

Of course.
What an epic failure on God's part.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. ... John 3:16

And yet 2/3's of the world will perish. Jesus should be proud of dad.

Sorry, another fail, SZ. I have no problem with reading comprehension, but I do understand why you have to make these silly accusations.

I repeat: the Bible cannot be used to say anything we may want it to say. Even you ought to be able to see that this is a gross exaggeration.

Yes, the Bible can be used to support both sides of a topic, but the topic of slavery (your example) is often examined out of its context. What was acceptable thousands of years ago is not always acceptable today. Were you aware that black-and-white thinking is an example of a type of cognitive disorder, SZ?

You either have a reading comprehension fail or an ability to debate honestly. By the rules of debate that some creationists use the Bible can even disprove the existence of God. At least 12 different times.

And I have never seen the subject of slavery examined out of context. It is very clear that the Bible does support it. It is the interpretation that it is against it that takes quite the stretch.

How do you interpret
