CRISPR has nothing special to do with 'playing God'. It's a technology like fire, nuclear energy, computers and the like that people can use in positive or negative ways.

"Positive or negative" are but subjective terms. CRISPR is yet one of many emerging technologies to defy even human nature (how do we do it?). But our creations are only as bright as their creators, however there may be an evolution impetus to what we incarnate. The Tyrell Corporation realised this aeons ago when they knew that Replicants would evolve emotionally, fully resentful of born slave status.

Anyway... I don't have netflix, but I'm totally cool with genetic engineering superhumans. It's simply a way to improve.
the flic went to length on this one item
to partake?.....or not to partake?

but we humans already have

we decide what seed goes to the ground
whatever seedlings will be plowed under to make way

we humans breed our animals
what traits will continue on
what forms will not

and we have been given dominion

it was ordained

Not only climate change, but the whole litany of modern afflictions. They seem to confound any desire for longevity, but I know it's a driving force to life. I'd clone myself if I knew more cerainly that the Earth would be not just be a satisfactory habitat, but a paradise for my progeny. Optimally, I would live as long as "it".
