Parts of India are cool but take an open mind for western visitors, one if the chance highlights of my life, swimming with whale sharks happend off Chennai

South America, i like Brazil. Columbia and Peru, also completely different culture
Japan too, but i was only there 3 days.

The good old US of A, I've been a couple of times for flying visits but managed a bit of tourism on the side. And also done a road trip in the south. I enjoyed being there greatly and it gave me plenty of ammunition to lob our american friends here on RF

Even Europe has much to see. The museum's and sights of Florence, Rome, Naples are a constant stream of delight.

Eastern europe can offer some really good holidays too

I really enjoyed China. Beijing, not so much, although the Forbidden City was impressive. Shanghai was stunning. And I spent a couple of weeks teaching in Chongqing. The trip up the mountain there to see the Buddhist temple was well worth it.

I only have Hawaii and Florida to get to to have been in all 50 states.
I have also been to Canada and Mexico.

For Europe I have been in West Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy.

And by "been in" I mean feet on the ground physically there.
Not like my friend who claims the parts of the world he only flew over in commercial jets.

Our list is fairly long, although we're not attached to accomplishing any of it. I'm getting to really detest long airplane rides. But Ireland is on it, as are some Caribbean Islands, and parts of the US on driving trips, or just fly to one city and explore. I prefer very much to go slow, and don't rush things. it's always people I find interesting, not the scenery.

The place i maybe have best memories from on my travels are the city of Krakow in Poland. The old part of the city was a very nice place when i visited there.

What is your reason or reasons for wanting to travel?
I have many reasons for traveling :)

Taking photos/Videos in different countries.
Learning a bit about culture and language in different countries
Meeting new people
Trying different vegetarian foods
Vacation alone

There are probably a lot more reasons why i want to travel, but those was on top of my head.

You got me beat by a wide margin. I have lived in nine states: California, Oregon, Indiana, Wisconsin, New York, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Washington, roughly in that order although I lived in California on three separate occasions and I lived in New York and Washington on two separate occasions.

I have traveled through all the other states except the southeastern states,Texas, Alaska and Hawaii.

Regarding other countries, I have only been to Spain, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.

I once had a job with a company with a Japanese office. I learned quite a bit actually working in that office for a week or two (hazy memory) and doing a bit of sightseeing (Hakone Open Air Museum).

I've also been in India several times and benefited from experiencing that culture and people.

And yes, when it comes to food. Eating a country's food in that country is of course different from eating a version of that food elsewhere.

My father was in the Army and was stationed in Hanau, Germany for five and half years.
Whilst living in Germany we took advantage of the lack of airfare being required to visit the other countries while we were there.
After my father retired from the Army I ended up working Over the Road truck driver for a few years.
Thus my being able to get to the majority of the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
