Term limits on any elected official. No matter if its state or government.

Albert Einstein is widely credited with saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

In my opinion half of our government needs to be ousted ASAP simply because they have been there too long. Its a public service job, not a career. Term limits needs to be on any and every one voted/elected into office. We cannot and will not get or see change by keeping the same people in office for many decades. Its insanity!

anna.

but mostly it's the same
And I would like them voted in by the people instead of appointed by a party.

I don't know what strict constructionists would think about that. They had reasons for not having a direct democracy. I'd have to look into it.

I would be okay with that, it'll balance out McConnell's stack. There's nothing in the Constitution regulating the size of the court.
There's are 9 now. I believe republican majority. The new administration want to add 4 more to gain control. It BS.

I didn't expect many replies here because everyone wants their party in control and if there's were term limits they might lose what control they have.

America is party blind!

News flash... The two party's are why we are $28 trillion in debt and they are the main cause to every problem we have.

Term limits is a two-edge sword. The really competent people and the bad ones both have to leave when their term is up. On balance, I think it's not a bad idea to force a turnover.

The general public do not know anything about them. better to have them elected by and from all senior court Judges as counsels, on a non party basis. party nomination would disqualify them on the grounds of Bias.

Term limits are a good idea however the ban from standing again should only extend to a gap two terms.

I would also like to see an age limit on candidates of 65, there are too many old elected officials who are out of touch.
I say that as an 86 year old.

Actually the plan suggested was to raise the number by four, two Democrats and two Republicans, thus keeping the Republican control of the SCOTUS, but reducing it to a single judge.

I do agree that stacking the court is a bad idea. That only leads to a court that is constantly growing.

I don't think that they are going to try to stack the court. It is not a popular idea even with Democrats.
