Does God have a proper name? What for?

According to what I find in Scripture God needs a name because how else would Jesus manifest God's name as Jesus said at John 17:6; John 17:26.
God's name was also important to Jesus that his God's name be hallowed, made/held sacred, holy, sanctified.
Clergy often try to hide God's name (Tetragrammaton YHWH) in order to promote their own ideas over Scripture.

Is that why the proper name YHWH is completely absent from the whole of the New Testament corpus? Because clergy tried to hide Gods name?

Really absent or because of the copies made from the 3rd century onwards were altered replacing the Tetragrammaton with Kyrios or Theos.

I see a literal Translation of the NT from the 'Text of the Vatican Manuscript' of 'Mark 12:29-30' where God's name appears.

Yes, it would appear to me that clergy hide God's name because Jesus said his Father's name should be hallowed.
Can't hallow (hold sacred) a name you do Not know.
Oh, what a 'tangled web was woven' by false clergy to say Jesus is God in order to ignore the Tetragrammaton.

So in your case, all the New Testament manuscripts, ever found, in the whole wide world are altered and maliciously interpolated by the clergy??

Babylon the Great.
As the people migrated away from ancient Babylon they took with them their religious-myth ideas as spread them world wide into a greater religious Babylon, or what Revelation terms as: Babylon the Great.

Jewish superstition felt God's name was too sacred to pronounce, thus the influence to Not say it and then Not use it.
So, by the time of King James the title LORD (in all Upper-Case letters) was used when translating into English.
Jesus said he manifested the name of his God and will declare God's name according to John 17:6,26.
