It appears Biden is giving police the go ahead to continue as they always did..

I applaud Biden for not caving to the mob. We have a criminal violence problem far far more than a bad cop problem.

I don't see it as a choice of facing one problem or the other.
The fed could get involved by treating dangerous cops as
a constitutional issue, ie, that these violations are systemic.
The fed can take effective legal measures to ensure that
local authorities honor our rights, eg, require better managing,
vetting, & training of cops.

The media exploitation of these events gives people the perception that its systemic.

It is systemic.
The problem with the media is that they portray it as
only happening to blacks. Twice as many whites are
shot & killed, so it's a much bigger problem. And of
course, the media are inciting racial hostilities & more
violence....a dysfunctional feedback loop.

There's so much more than death statistics. Cops also
beat, threaten, rape, falsely arrest, & rob civilians.
Another statistic....95% of those killed are men.

Politics is wild right now. Both parties have the same problem: their woke minority is big enough to cause them to hesitate. Biden is stuck between progressive Democrats who want no police at all and conservative Democrats who see no problem to begin with. I think it is clear that both of these perspectives are flawed and there is a compromise, but the leadership is afraid to take a definitive position. I hope Biden finds his voice soon.

Maybe it would be better to just express what you see here as opposed to making vauge opposition in questioning of what or what I don't see or understand here.
Namely that different options are being weighed according to the article, which is the smart thing to do versus just the administration making some sort of knee-jerk decision. In this area, the extremes rarely are that best options.
