I admire how our V. P. has been busy with touring communities of color where she is persuading colorful skinned persons to overcome their hesitancy to get vaccinated against C. O. V. I. D. -19. I would consider this issue as taking precedence over a politicized photo op at the border.

But who will protect America from the threat of unarmed poor people exercising their human right to freedom of movement?

If she was at the border, the right would criticize her for empty grandstanding, wouldn't they?
Yup. It does not matter what Biden and his administration do, the right will decry it endlessly. It's called politics.

A completed wall
Walls don't work. People knock them down, tunnel over them or as we've seen drop children from on top of them.

Even a Berlin-style wall did not totally work. The Great Wall of China did not work. Hadrian's Wall did not work.

But some still believe in the magical properties of walls.

Problems are solved by addressing the root causes of problems not by trying to put a bandage over an oozing sore.

It was a joke, didn't some orange guy say he was going to build one?

As my grandpa told me when I was young.. "as long as you feed stray dogs they will keep coming around"

The desperate migrants are just 'stray dogs' to you? I would bet money they work harder than you (or I) do.

I didn't call them stray dogs as it was an analogy. But if you don't get that let me put it this way....quit giving illegals free things and they will quit flocking here". In other words have them go through due process to become legal and then let them make their own living like everyone else does.

Don't bet in what you don't know.

but mostly it's the same

True. And I'm torn between "when they go low, we go high" and "when they go low, we go lower."

I feel an obligation to take the high road but it doesn't get Democrats anywhere with the right - Democrats have to meet criticism like "Kamala's not at the border! The outrage! The scandal!" with an attitude of "So what? We call the shots now..."

They are seeking asylum and we have the moral obligation to help them. They are people not 'illegals' and they are coming here to work - at jobs most Americans. want nothing to do with. They are not panhandlers.
