Ask about my beliefs

VoidCat

Pronouns: he/him/they/them
I realize I dont talk about them much so go ahead...keep in mind tho I expect civil conversation and an honest attempt at understanding. Do not attempt to ask anything unless that is indeed your intent. I will never try to convert you to my religion as my beliefs aren't for everyone. Remember my beliefs are constantly changing and evolving. Keep this in mind when asking as the beliefs I post here may be vastly different days from now or even tommorrow.

Some background if it helps y'all think of questions: I am a pagan witch who worships Hel, Angrboda, Sigyn and Loki. I believe in nature spirits and the fae. I also want to get involve in ancestral worship but haven't had a chance yet. I have a favorable view of Lucifer, plan on making an altar to him soon and I believe demons and angels exist along with many pagan deities. I also have mixed feelings towards the Abrahamic God but dont know what all I believe in regards to him.

No questions here. Sounds like a solid group of deities. Maybe intentional, but you know they are all related right?

Sigyn is Loki's wife in some myths. And Loki and Angrboda shake up and create Hel.
I know. It just wasn't intentional I was drawn to them. I edited the post to make that more clear...I meant yes I know and no not intentional. Loki also had Fenrir and the midgard serpent with Angrboda. The story of how Loki was bound and Sigyn stood by him is one of my favorite myths. Wrote a poem about it a long time ago.

Do you believe in souls? If so, how do they work?

Also, what are your thoughts on other gods? Would you consider yourself a polytheist?

Finally, what do you think about the Havamal? I know Odin isn't part of your list of gods, but I'm still curious. :D

Yes. But I am still forming views on that so I can't explain my thoughts on the topic.

Depends on the deity. They are millions
Would you consider yourself a polytheist?
polytheistic and pantheistic

hadn't had a chance to read it but it's on my bucket list.

Ancestral "worship" has long been a hobby in my family. I derive untold wisdom from the dearly departed, not necessarily having to visit the ancient cemetery stones. But the vibes you can imagine when doing so surpass any wallet photo.

Mine too, though indirectly...

I hear all manner of stories about departed family members. My grandpa was quite a guy. :D We also have a family tree going back hundreds of years... I hope to get my family crest and coat of arms tattooed at some point in the future. :)

I liked Thorsson's ideas on the soul, or rather parts of the soul. It's supposedly rooted in ancient norse ideas, but I doubt it's 100% accurate. Still, it's a beautiful thing.

That answer tells me what I want to know. :)

polytheistic and pantheistic

Ok! Interesting.

It's written like a song, and the last section of it is written like a magic spell (it's written in Galdralag), but modern english translation efforts lose that luster. I think Dr. Jackson Crawford has a really good translation, though it's all meaning and no meter. If you want to enjoy it for it's poetic qualities, I suggest getting this version.

Yes I know and no it wasn't intentional that I was drawn to them.

That is the way of being pagan and it is so refreshing to me because you find that connection. I became drawn to Hertha and feel a connection with Thor not because I was told I must but because I felt a connection. I also feel an connection with Morrigan and even drove through the middle of Ireland to find Oweynagat the cave of the cats driving down a one lane dirt road and stepping into a cow pasture just to see it.

I didn't want to be drawn to Lucifer at first but I feel drawn to him now and I am starting to see him very differently then I did at first.

To the best of my knowledge, apparently some witches, and I'm not sure if it affects all groups - are purposely pretty secretive of their beliefs, sometimes not even telling new friends much about what they believe.

Have you heard of this idea and if so, do you tend to agree or disagree with it?

Do you believe all gods exist and choose which you follow?
