अनेकवक्‍त्रनयनमनेकाद्भ‍ुतदर्शनम् ।
अनेकदिव्याभरणं दिव्यानेकोद्यतायुधम् ॥ १०॥

"aneka-vaktra-nayanam, aneka adbhuta-darśanam;
aneka-divya abharaṇaṁ, divya aneka udyata āyudham."

Arjuna saw in that universal form unlimited mouths, unlimited eyes, unlimited wonderful visions. The form was decorated with many celestial ornaments and bore many divine upraised weapons.

I have a lot on my plate personally, a lot on my mind, personal situations that are draining me financially, physically, mentally and emotionally. Now I have to get to the bottom of why I’ve developed this stutter, a rather significant stutter, at my age. A few people think it was a small stroke, or several over time.

So to that end I’m going to take a leave of absence. Sort of a temporarily self-imposed exile. Away how long? I don’t know. At least until I can see more clearly. I don’t trust myself to interact objectively, especially as a staff member. We’re supposed to set an example.

So yeah... I thought it’s best to just be honest and let everyone in this DIR, and the staff know. In case I don’t respond I don’t want anyone to think I’m snubbing them.

Thanks for understanding.

Until then... Kalyanamastu. _/\_

Also the 'Shraddha Paksha' (Remembrance of ancestors).
It is based on 'thithi', i.e., days of the lunar fortnight (1 to 15). An ancestor is remembered on the 'tithi' that he/she died on, and rituals conducted if the person wants swomething elaborate, or if the person goes to a place of pilgrimage where such rites are conducted. For example, it could be Martand in Kashmir (where the ashes of my anscestors before my great-grandfather were immersed), or Pehowa on the banks of River Saraswati, or Ganges at Garh Mukteshwar near Delhi, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Gaya and Ganga Sagar where River Ganges meets the sea. I do not know much about places in South India, but there must be a few - Nashik for example.

Third day of Navaratri - Mother Chandraghanta. Covid-19 restricts the joy. It will be the same for Deepawali and related festival. Floods, danger of war on border. A bad year for India and much of the world.

Jindals, Industrialists, Steel and Cement Mill owners (Family worth: $5 billion). The one second from left is Naveen, influential in the previous Congress governments. Satish, the one on right perhaps has some influence in the current government.

Bhai Dooj, the festival celebrating the relationship between brothers and sisters. Like the festival these days in corona times, the spark is lost. Yes, the ritual was completed wherever possible. I do not have a real sister, but three cousins sisters. Normally we gather at one eating joint and celebrate it. There was no such gathering this year. My wife visited her brothers' place, and my son was able to go to his sister's place because we all live nearby.

From another forum: "Bhai Dooj here in India today - we Bongs know it as Bhai Phonta.
Not just a celebration of culture, but more importantly a celebration of food. Time to gorge on some home cooked delicacies."[/QUOTE]

Second day of the four-day Chhatth festival. Technically, the families stay on the banks of water bodies for four days. Oblation to Sun God, but the real prayer is to the Mother Goddess "Chhatthi Maiya". I do not think there is any temple of "Chhatthi Maiya". Important festival of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh. Very subdued celebration this year because of the virus, Court and Government orders, at least in Delhi. In Bihar, I do not think it will make much difference, virus or no virus. It is their most important yearly festival for the welfare of the men-folk
Forgot we celebrated the Karva Chauth also a few days ago for welfare of husbands..

A different view of Kedarnath shrine in Himalayas.

The mountains behind the temple are at least 20,000 ft. high.
And a huge rock which lodged itself right behind the temple to save it from being destroyed in the 2013 deluge which killed some 5,000 people and destroyed the old town. The stone is now worshiped as Bhim Shila. (Bhim, some thing so big that cannot be dislodged).

It really does not matter because we have already designated a place where a future Kedar shrine would be estalibshed (Bhavishya Kedar). We also have a temple at the place where a previous Kedar temple existed (Budha Kedar, Old Kedar). These changes of due to time do not worry Hindus.
