Sure, I'll pay up when the billionaire class is eradicated, corporate handouts end, and people like me make what they should be making if wealth was distributed more equitably in this country. Deal?

I'm sure your kids would be happy if you paid your fair share of their upkeep.
I had to pay child support in arrears for the last year, despite my daughter then being a 17 year old having earned income working at McDonald,'s. I am so glad she is now a young adult who can fend for herself, I won't be having to pay anymore child support for her .

If I were a billionaire, I'd be more than happy to pay for our share of national debt. I don t understand why uber wealthy people are so stingy about paying taxes.

I'd be happy with it. But I was only making half that as a case manager in Indiana, with only 15-16000 left in my pocket after taxes.
It's quite embarrassing to be a white collar professional and apply for and receive low income benefits, but I was.

Hope you do a lot better than that.

Except it is not my debt.
Thus not my "portion" of the debt.
I am very grateful for all the medicaid, SNAP EBT funds, and enhanced unemployment benefits Uncle Sam has provided to me, I figure the federal government has incurred tens of thousands of dollars in public debt to help me out.

Lol, that's more than I make in 3 or 4 years. Elon Musk can pay my share.
Ya know, if he can afford to be so wasteful that he can pollute space with one of his anto-consumer cars, something like that I really do think the government should be able to step in, say no, and issue him a very hefty fine litering, and make him pay his employees more. If he has that much money to waste, he can start helping to prop up those who helped prop him up, because he wouldn't have his wealth without his employees.
Or just make him make all of his company's stuff, no employees, keep it all, do whatever.

I agree. It's time the rich and the corporations which manipulate the tax code to pay less than their fair share or nothing at all pay up.

And we need to keep Democratic administrations in office since the deficit gets worse with borrow and spend Republicans in office.
???

Apparently you aren't reading up on the news.

Obama added 8.59 trillion
Trump added 6.7 Trillion

Which President Increased U.S. Debt the Most?

And Biden is well on his way to beat the two of them.

Ha. So that was where my taxes went

I don't like seeing any taxpayer's dollars or pubic debt being spent on military weapons capable of inflicting mass destruction.
If we didn't, we'd be toast...someone else's toast.
I object to playing policeman to the world...poorly.

I figure if Congress were to implement the revenue enhancements proposed by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren as well as limit federal spending to under 2 percent of GDP, there, d be a manageable increase towards our national debt

I would favor the U. S. military getting rid of its existential threatening strategic nukes while still maintaining its defensive capabilities to prevent a foreign hostile takeover. If World War 3 were fought with strategic nukes, , I suspect World War 4, would be fought with rocks.

Without nukes, we'd be at a pretty severe disadvantage.
