Parables series: The Man without his wedding Garment.

Matthew 22 reads and I quote:

22 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

The Above Parable reveals things about the wedding of the lamb. The interesting thing about this parable is that a guest who was present, among them that were told the wedding was happening and was invited to attend was kicked out of the wedding because he didn't have his wedding garment.

In this earth it is the Man and the Woman being married that have wedding garments, not the guests. It doesn't say that the Man is the one being wedded, nor does it say he was among the bachelor party, but that he was a guest invited to attend the wedding.

Who is the Man and the Woman being married at the wedding, and why do the guests need to have their weddings garments on? Why did the man not have his wedding garment?

I don't think it matters who the man and woman are who are getting married and it is no good guessing.
However we are all invited to the wedding of the Son of God and should come dressed appropriately, in the righteousness of His Son. The garment is supplied by God and it is up to us to put it on if we want to go to the wedding. This would mean having and living as one who has faith in the Son of God.
In the day of Jesus I am told that the custom also was for the host to supply wedding garments to the guests and that would cover their rank and allow them to mingle freely as equals, as guests of the host.
Basically there would be no excuse for not wearing the garment.
I imagine it would be an act of disrespect to not wear it.

The parable doesn't say he had didn't wear it but had it, the parable says he didn't have it. If the Garment is supplied by GOD, then are you saying you have it if the wedding was called today?

The parable said he was not wearing a wedding garment, and it sound unfair unless we realise that the garments are given to those invited by the host.
You question is like the parable of the 10 virgins which seems to be one about always being ready.
I have put on the righteousness of Jesus by faith in Him and I have tried to be a disciple and allow the faith to work through love. I hope I am prepared. We can all point to failings in our lives, but ultimately we rest on the righteousness of Jesus and allow Him to judge whether we know Him or not, whether we are suitably dressed for the feast.

Even that parable which i have not highlighted yet, is not what the people think it is. They are called virgins because they cannot put to birth. Which simply means they are Angels. And it has to do with the mission of Angels that were sent with each age of the church. But let me leave that aside.

The wedding garment, is the transfigured body. It is not an inheritance that GOD will just give to the people because they believed. It is the Garment that must be put on, or else that person will die and go to Abrahams Bosom and wait for the resurrection.

you're not asking the right questions

why did the first group of invited?......refuse to show for the event
did they know something that most people don't?

and the random people called.....were called late
the table was readied.....the feast in place

so .....they who did attend came.....as is
no time to prepare their persons

and no one seems to notice.....not ONCE in my life have I heard anyone bring forth
the guest bound and and foot
was executed

thrown outside the Door ......he could not leave
or defend himself

and WHAT would BE in the outer darkness?
to bring weeping
and a gnashing of teeth

and the guests who remain seated.....at the Table
can HEAR the torment
just outside the Door

come dine with ME

I think it is the wedding means the day when Jesus and his congregation, his disciples, meet again. And the garment is the righteous acts.

It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Rev. 19:8

If person doesn’t have that, it means person is not righteous and as it is said in the Bible, eternal life is promised only for righteous.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

a much BETTER question

coupled to another.....did he have an appearance different?
flip question.....was he chosen at random?

I echo my Inspiration

If you cannot tell where this comes from.....neither can you tell where it will go

Your focus on the man kicked out, and like it was an injustice tells me all i need to know about the kind of teachings you are eating.

The King's 'friends' would not come so he murdered them all, everyone, in their city.
And strangers on the road who were then called needed the right dress or they were beaten up and chucked out in to danger.

If I was an acquaintance of this king, or even a stranger, I would run!
Which (of course) I have done...... Deists can acknowledge Christian Kings but we take care when passing their castles. :)

I will give it a go to interpret this parable in the light of the Baha’í Writings.

God is represented by the King and His son is the Holy Spirit. This is the intermediary between God and His servants and the receptive souls. The invited guests are humanity.

The bride is the human heart. The one thing in God’s creation that He has set aside for Himself, God only wants our hearts. The servants are the Manifestations of God who summon humanity to the Creator’s purpose. Through the all-conquering love of the Holy Spirit, the pure heart conceives God’s child, which is faith. It is through the birth of this new life of the soul, that we humans can attain the capacity to ascend unto heaven:

The remnant is most likely the people that do not want a new wedding (Message) and thus do all they can to stop it happening.

The guest without wedding cloths, given the verdict given, could be the Antichrist who appears in each age.

I see it is the story of Faith and there would be quite a few ways to interpret it.

for clarity....
Clarity? :p

the parable is of earthly kings?

or is it aimed at the kingdom within you?
that which rules you
A lovely idea .......
But if I think about that I see Jesus referring to the corrupt priesthood and temple as royalty and how the priests themselves have left the tenets of the laws, whilst insisting upon the people to come and stay within their rules. Hypocrites the lot of them.
Jesus could not speak openly sometimes.

Jesus could not speak openly sometimes.

This parable is about the Journey to Jericho,; the journey to immortalisation in life; which is the path to life, and the end of the world. It is speaking of all the people (children of the kingdom ONLY) in the earth that was called to repentance. That reprenatance is not just saying sorry and trying to not to sin exactly, it is being born again by immortalising your body in life. The king in question is Father Adam, the Son of GOD, whose shoes Jesus His Pre-Eminence came into the earth in. The people called originally was Israel. But at a time, the GOD that sends the children of the kingdom into the earth stopped sending them into Israel but starting sending them to all nations globally to be born of women in countries outside of Israel. So the people that were called good and bad is speaking of the children of the kingdom globally, that were called to the wedding of the body and the Spirit becoming one flesh.

Becoming one flesh means that the body immortalised, and the Spirit which is immortal, become joined together forever so the person cannot die anymore. It is referred to in the bible as "Transfiguration"... The transfigured body is the wedding garment. The Man kicked out of the wedding was a man that did not transfigure in life, so he (being cast out into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth), means casted out from the people that did transfigure to the places where the revelations from GOD are not.. This is exactly the same as Moses speaking about the woman who has an issue of blood must be separated from the people, isolate for a time because she is unclean. Moses taking it literally missed the point of that Law. The Law he gave has caused alot of problems for women. Why would anyone think it came from GOD? It makes even doctors to look more compassionate. That is showing its not what it means.

The one who is cut off from the people (acts 3:19-23 Deuteronomy 18) is represented in this person that was called, but kicked out of the wedding because he didn't have his wedding garment. Simply, this means that he did not locate the person who GOD sent, and assimilate messages to the point that he immortalised his body in life, or that he did locate the man GOD sent, but did not assimilate the revelations that GOD sent. So, he must die and go to the ghost world. But the place called "Outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth", means that he will be in the churches that GOD did not build, nor send any man to preach, a place where what is taught is food sacrificed unto idols, ultimately that the person will die, and go to the ghost world where they will be until the resurrection,

That is the meaning of this parable.
