Christians! Do you despise Abominations? There's only one left to hate....which?

Skanky Old Mongrel!
Oh...... one more from Deuteronomy.......

27:15} Cursed [be] the man that maketh [any] graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth [it] in [a] secret [place.] And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

My interpretation of the above is 'God or Mammon?' ......... what is yours?

Finally............
Deuteronomy {29:17} And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which [were] among them:)

Silver and Gold....... the end of the abominations from Deuteronomy and Leviticus.

So which, if any, are important for you, and why?

Thank you.

Yep........ I know all about that.

Yes.... I do.
Jesus redacted at least 106 of the laws of Moses.
Christians redacted hundreds of them.

But you keep the whole lot, all 613 OT laws...... ok..... got it.

No, HE didn't. HE said; I did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets, but to fulfil.

What HE did was, reveal the higher that Moses was not able to catch; decipher and assimilate and then teach the people perfectly. Here is an example:

You have heard that it was said of old time, thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say unto you....

Here is where HE revealed that HE didn't get the revelation perfect from GOD. But I say unto you is GOD saying what HE said that Moses couldn't bring out. This is a place where HE revealed HE is GOD, thats why the people accused HIM of making HIMSELF equal with GOD. A Son is not equal with his father.

There is alot of mistakes the Great Moses made, but thats because of his inability, not his choice. Moses, the Great Moses called 'The Law" was defining the mortal body. That is why he circled thje wilderness for 40 years pointing to the circulatory system. That is why he parted the red sea, pointing to the blood in the body. Believe me or don't, doesn't change this at all.

Unclean foods, was teaching Moses messages about the unclean humans. Not that they are clean or unclean as we know it; but that their Spirit Being hailed from somewhere else. It was also pointing to messages; eating an unclean animal was pointing to eating messages that are unclean. Meaning, they are messages of false prophets. Moses took everything literally, because that is what the body does. The body cannot understand life and things that are outside of this terrestrial. You might say what about space? Space is terrestrial; it is not celestial. There is no darkness, no night in the Celestial realm

So Moses messages have their meanings, he just wasnt able to explain it properly. That is why women have suffered a great deal in Israel, because the men were literal as well. Saying that a woman must be isolated if she has an issue of blood, but that was a message pointing to mortality.

The World has yet to know GOD, truly. And the World has yet to understand that GOD's height of communication and frequency is Unmatched;immaculate; HE is the Most High GOD. Therefore, when HE speaks, HE speaks at HIS height of communication and frequency, it is then up to the person HE is speaking to, to decipher accurately, assimilate, and teach the people what GOD said. A Prophet is a treasure to a people that understand the work they do.

So ill adress this one: A woman must isolate from everyone when she has an issue of blood. And any who touch her shall be unclean (summarised). This is pointing to near the end of this terrestrial earth, that the church shall be one, and there will be those from it that managed to run their race to the finish line and put on immortality in life; that person has not any blood in the body and is currently draining the water as well unto their transfiguration. While there will be others, that will know that they didn't make it, and will know the end of the earth is coming and that they must die and wait for resurrection; and these people will no longer be among those that immortalised in life. Compare with:

A Prophet shall the Lord your GOD raise up, like unto me, from the brethren, to him shall ye hear all that he speaks. And any that does not hearken unto him shall be off from among the people.

So while you are diminishing the works of Moses, you are doing it in a height of ignorance, and showing disrespect to a dignatry of the kingdom; a Patriarch who had the greatest privellege of speaking to the GOD as he did.

Fine! So why do so many Christians quote the Mosaic Laws at people??

Your ten Commandments are duplicated in the NT, but so many chuck OT law about, when it suits them. There are over 1000 rules, laws and commands issued in the New Testament but Christians ignore so many of the essential OT Laws as it suits them....... imo.
I blame the Reformation. The (laudable) attempt to shake off the corruption and baroque theological accretions of the Catholic church at that time involved a search for doctrinal purity, by means of the new principle of sola scriptura. This led to a far greater prominence being given to the Old Testament than before, since in fact most of the bible is the Old Testament. Since the teaching of the pre-Reformation churches about the OT had been thrown in the skip, you got a new form of Christianity in which there was not much guidance as to what from the OT should be treated as applicable to Christians and what should not.

That at least is my impression. I too find it annoying the way some evangelical Protestants have a habit of quoting arcane bits of the OT, usually out of context, to justify whatever view they want to put forward. Since the OT is full of conflicting statements, at least when taken out of their original context, one can play this game to support almost anything, from persecution of homosexuals to apartheid.

We have nearly arrived at the last mentions of any abominations in Deuteronomy.....

Deuteronomy{25:14} Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small. {25:15} [But] thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. {25:16} For all that do such things, [and] all that do unrighteously, [are] an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Oh Wow! We've finally found an abomination which is a cheating thieving kind.

Now why do so many Christians focus upon the 'man lying with man' law whilst totally ignoring the above? The law above is a crime today, just as before. I think that this is the one that deserves most attention.

The Term Abomination, is pointing to the Annahk, the Annak-under, (annaconda) which is offspring of fallen angels and women. And then offpsring of nephilim and women, and so on. They have been in the earth since after Noah too, and are in the earth today as well.

Abomi - in - nation.

And the things they did, things they promoted in this earth, things they have desecrated in this earth, are called Abominations. You must get this right, an abomination is not a result of the sin nature, its speaking of the Spirit Being. Homosexuality is like that.

GOD said: Be fruitful and multiply - it was all in that. A child of the kingdom cannot have feelings like that for their own sex. Its impossible. It is likely a tare that has those feelings because that is not the result of the Sin nature. It is a result of the Spirit Being of the person.

So it wasn't called a sin, it was called an abomination.

I think you put that very well.

On occasions when I mention the many poor laws of Moses some (usually extreme) Christians tell me that they only follow the New Covenant. Soon afterwards those same Christians will be quoting OT Law to support some bigotry or other.

I don't think so.

Apart from sacrifice laws every single one of Moses Laws was to protect from sickness, weakness and to strengthen the people. The whole lot were all about that.

You can't pick out one law that in some way did not achieve security, strength or protect from sickness.

Try it.

Nah......
Back then Jesus required the fulfillment of all except the sacrificial, ceremonial laws kept by a corrupt Temple.
So think you've got that wrong.

The Old Covenant had a law which was for those under that covenant and much of it was symbolic of other things and pointed to the New Covenant where we live by faith and follow the law of Christ as directed by the Holy Spirit. This law business was one of those things that Jesus said His apostles could not accept straight away and which would be revealed later by the Holy Spirit.
In the passage below we can also see how the Holy Spirit brought what Jesus had said back to the remembrance of the apostles.
But what do you mean about what Jesus required back then?

Acts 11:1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him, saying, 3 “You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” 4 But Peter began and explained it to them in order: 5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision, something like a great sheet descending, being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me. 6 Looking at it closely, I observed animals and beasts of prey and reptiles and birds of the air. 7 And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’ 8 But I said, ‘By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ 9 But the voice answered a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ 10 This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven. 11 And behold, at that very moment three men arrived at the house in which we were, sent to me from Caesarea. 12 And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man's house. 13 And he told us how he had seen the angel stand in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa and bring Simon who is called Peter; 14 he will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ 15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?” 18 When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

Completely wrong.
The laws were all written to avoid sickness, increase thge size of the nation and build strength.

Every one apart from the sacrifice rules.

In the passage below we can also see how the Holy Spirit brought what Jesus had said back to the remembrance of the apostles.
I cannot see any such thing. Not one word from Jesus is shown in that ....

But what do you mean about what Jesus required back then?
Matthew 9:13} But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

But Jesus required a return of the laws of Moses, their fulfillment...... the priesthood had neglected so many of them.

And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
Not one word of any of that came from Jesus.

By baptising, both Jesus and the Baptist were offering cleansing and redemption by immersion FOR NOTHING. No wonder the people flocked to them both. They were short circuiting the Temple money-go-round. No wonder Antipas had to go out and fetch them in if he could find them.

Quite so. This, I humbly suggest, is one snag when there is no reliance on a thought-out body of teaching, developed over time by some form of expert, recognised authority. Such authority is found in the pre-Reformation churches, and in many of the more mainstream post-Reformation ones, and it is a great help in guiding the faithful through the thickets of apparently conflicting messages that one can find in the bible if one attempts to read it unguided.

I need to reverse back from your proposal a bit.
Listening to teachings by experts is a kind of institutional indoctrination, whereas reading the Bible unguided leads one on to individual investigation. The latter had more value than the former.....

I notice how many Christians will insist on explaining what Jesus really meant, or how the Holy Spirit guides one to the meaning of words that make perfect sense all by themselves. I just see those ideas as 'spin'.

....which is how so many Christians excuse there behaviour?
OK, I know that there are over 1000 rules, laws and commands for Christians in the New Testament but they leave out so many essentials from the OT, and insist on clinging to others. Ergo, some Christians 'duck 'n' dive' with their ideas about the laws.

??? Sure don't know how we got to point "Z". Did I say we excuse bad behavior?

We have two commands.... love God with all of your heart, all your soul, all of your mind and strength -- and love your neighbor as yourself.

Where does bad behavior fit in that?

They've all been changed! Wonderful!
So an ABOMINATION can become an 'OK, carry on!' guideline.

So the word ABOMINATION means nothing any more. I thank your God for that. So I'm hoping we won't be hearing any more bigotry from Christians over any of the OT Laws, just what Jesus ordered...... yes?

In food.. yes :) Aren't you glad you can now eat bat? :D

No... I said we "SANCTIFY" abominations. How you do that depends on which ABOMINATION you would like to focus on.

There was a reason back then for the 'men should not lay with men' law but the Israelites needed lots of children then, and needed closed couples. Today any closed couples are safe from sickness and so gays can marry. Easy.
Not if you love God with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind and all of your strength. :) If you love God, you adjust your choices. And that includes swapping spouses and all the free sex. And not to diminish lustful eyes.

So, if you love God with all of your heart those other things seem to vanish away.

That isn't a Mosaic law application... it is the law of love as established in Genesis. A man is made for a woman and a woman for a man. We are sanctified by giving our lives to God and letting His Word cleanse our ways. His blood and the Cross brought forgiveness so that mercy rejoices over judgment.

So mercy rejoiced over the judgment by providing an answer instead of point to all the failures.

The Christianity faith is mostly all about Paul and others. imo.
All Pauline.....

But there was 'church', consisting of Jews, before Paul came on the scene and included gentiles. There are as many opinions on Pauline theology as there are scholars who debate it.

Only the first three are really unique to God, the rest are necessary for the survival of the community.

Leviticus {7:21} Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean [thing, as] the uncleanness of man, or [any] unclean beast, or any abominable unclean [thing,] and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which [pertain] unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

Please wash your hands or use a disinfectant. Have you asked our Jewish friends yet?

Leviticus {11:12} Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that [shall be] an abomination unto you.

Bottom feeding fish and munchers of carrion can collect and pass on infections, but today your cooking equipment is much better, so if you want to munch on skate 'n' chips (luvly!) you won't get sick so easily and in any case you won't go to hell. Next!

If a sin no longer leads top weakness or sickness then it's 'out of date'
So, pray with thanksgiving and know that eating raw fish can be dangerous.
