Having wrong focus in religious practices

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
Over some period of time i realized that what religious people of all faiths are really good at,is to blame others for having the wrong belief

But why? Ok i am a sufi muslim but should i really go around bullying those who believe differently than i do? Yes the Qur'an do say that there is only one God (Allah)
But that is for muslims, we are not supposed to believe or follow other Gods, but that does not give me the right to tell other human beings who believe differently than i do, Hey you believe in an evil God or preteded God.
You chose who you want to believe in and I chose who I believe in.

I do not have monopoly on what God is right for you. But i can tell about the God i believe in without disrespecting you or the God/Buddha you chosen to follow.

Should not our focus be on how we our self behave according to the teaching or God we believe in?

Well, as a skeptic I in effect use wrong to find God in my version, because what is left when I have done my religion (in time and never done, because I can still learn) as using methodological solipsism and skepticism is God.

When i meet skeptics I as a Muslim, should not push my belief on to you( here many do wrong) but if you ask about my belief i should answer:) if i chose to ask you something i could ask why you are sceptical. And any answer you may give, i should respect you for it.

I am a skeptic in the end, because that is how God made me. That is my hand I have to play and learn to do. I accept that your hand is different and wish you a good, long happy and content life, God willingly.

Regards from one fellow human to another.

I don't think this is strictly a religious phenomenon. Atheists do it when they deride someone for their beliefs at times. It's not even limited to religious beliefs. People like to deride others for any given thing, like politics.

Ultimately, the need to be above others seems to be a very human thing. We like to think that we know more than we actually do, and we like to think we are better than we actually are. Tearing down others is a cheap and easy way to achieve this feeling without investing anything of any real value, like focusing effort on bettering one's self.

Folks would do well to squash down that feeling of superiority when it raises it's ugly head. Self delusion is a trap, and this specific kind of self delusion is especially harmful.

I don't mean this to be condescending to others, and I do believe those who have followed their religion for years get this as a part of their growth. The problem isn't specifically them (how they execute the issue is the problem) but some denominations (say JW and evangelist) have a mission to convert others. They say that's in their bible and what they are supposed to do. So, instead of it being wrong (the intent to convert), it's just part of their interpretation of scripture. Catholics used to do this too in history, but it varies now. Individual catholics, like most Muslims I came across, seem to be more private about their beliefs. All in all, I don't agree with conversion intentions at all; but, like belief in god, that's just their religion. What I'd say is wrong is how that conversion tactic is expressed. It's one thing to say "did you want to come to church with me" and a whole 'nother to say "come to church with me so you can be saved (or have this magazine or listen to me evangelize)."

Anyway, I can tell (in my opinion) when people follow their right religion because it makes them want to understand themselves in relation to others rather than understand themselves in difference to others.

Personally i understand you do not try to single out people from JW or evangelists:) you used your understanding of their way of acting as an example to make your point. If you spoke about muslims in Islam who do wrong according to the teaching in the Qur'an, that would also be an example and not an attack ( in my understanding)

Exactly. It's really how you go about telling your disagreement than the disagreement itself. Listing what's wrong with the Quran from a person's point of view is fine and maybe good for discussion, but if the intention is to prove the other false by degrading their beliefs, than that's wrong. It's hard to tell the difference sometimes because people's personalities and culture dictate who is more acceptable to disagreements and who is not. I'm only around christians so I use them (those with whom my examples apply), but not to degrade.

What if the person leaves the destroyed path for a better one?
Ricky Gervais's brother did that. He seems better for it?
To face challenges to beliefs strikes me as useful.

I have a serious question.

According to your Islamic theology, what will happen to worshippers of "other gods" when they die?

Please give me a straight answer. No vagueness or 27 qualifiers, por favor.

Belief is an individual choice ― or, rather, it is a choice involving the individual and God. Therefore, forced conversions are simply unacceptable, and anyone who would use force rather than persuasion to promote religion must ignore the view of the person central to the Qur'an.

A muslim is punished a lot harder for leaving islam than you not believing in it :)

I asked a clear question and you didn't answer at all.

I didn't ask for your opinion on people's motivations or conversions or whatever.

I simply specifically asked what will happen to non-muslim worshippers of other gods besides allah when they die, according to your Islamic theology.

If you don't want to answer, just say so. Then I'll ask you why you don't want to answer.

You are free to follow the God or non God you chose. If Allah was to judge you, it would not be by your belief in Hun, but by your own action words and thoughts you done in your life

And say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “˹This is˺ the truth from your Lord. Whoever wills let them believe, and whoever wills let them disbelieve.” Surely We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose walls will ˹completely˺ surround them. When they cry for aid, they will be aided with water like molten metal, which will burn ˹their˺ faces. What a horrible drink! And what a terrible place to rest!

So according to your islamic theology, what will happen to someone who dies while worshiping some deity other then allah (and thus following the religious rules of that religion instead of islam)?

Is your answer that their faces will be burned by boiling water?

You don't know what Islamic theology says about that?
What does the verse say that you quoted?
You asked my understanding or views on it. Yes the verse do say so. I do not go against Allah's teaching. But i am not the one who judge other people , so i answered I do not know because it is not me who judge. Only Allah can do that
