Are you curious about your fellow forum users? Is there something about them you'd like to know? This is the place to ask your questions!

@YoursTrue: Is that your mountain dulcimer in your avatar picture? How long have you been playing? I've only been playing about a year... You got any songs for a beginner like me to pick up?

@Shadow Wolf: I know you moved on over to California to escape a lot of problems you faced before, and that you love where you live now... There's a lot of natural beauty in California. Have you seen the Redwoods, or Yosemite? How about some of the other places out west, like Washington or Oregon?

@Revoltingest: You are definitely one of the most well collected posters I've seen on here. I've seen several posters accuse you of all manner of things; you keep your composure, though. Are there any posts on here I can look up where you just lose it and go ham on someone? I just really wanna see you lose your cool for once. :D

I have not seen Washington, Oregon, or Yosemite. But I have seen the Sequoias, Lake Isabella, I've drove through Kern Canyon, and the coast from a few locations. I've also drove through the Mojave Reserve when I was detoured once coming back here due to heavy rains and flooding along the mountains where I planned on going. And it's also beautiful where I live during the winter time (with the winter rains and wind clearing the smog out), with the mountains in the distance with snow on top. It's also pretty cool watching the snowstorms as they dump all that white stuff on them.
And I HATE scrub jays though. HATE them! They are gorgeous, but have a hideous squawk and they are a rare thing of nature and beauty that I absolutely detest (especially at 5-6 in the morning).

That is what I was laughing at, lmao. That would be something to get to see a rare and short lived post of his lighting someone up, lmao.

Am I curious about fellow forum users?

Not really. Most are anonymous with false names or chosen names for privacy(me included).
The internet is notorious for people exploiting it and being dishonest about who they are, what they do, their life in general. Studies show pretty high percentage of people doing that. I could tell you I'm a billionaire with my own software company and you would have no way of knowing the truth.

That would make sense if you held yourself by the same argument as everyone else. If you told us you're a billionaire, why would we (well, I) assume you're not just because you're on RF. Maybe we under estimate people a bit too much, eh?

If you've never met me, which you havent, you have to choose that everything I tell you is....
1. True
2. Exaggerated
3. A lie

Being you've never met me or know anything about me except what I tell you, what criteria do you use to make your choice?

Yes, @SigurdReginson, it's a dulcimer. Not a real good one, but I enjoyed playing it and singing with it. (Usually.) One of my favorite songs is Annie Laurie. One evening I was reclining on a motorized recliner, and I heard something crunch as I was moving back. Well, you guessed it, it was the dulcimer. I did not get another one. Now I have a guitar and can play it somewhat -- there's an old Pete Seeger song on cable where he sings "Down on Penny's Mill." Oh, I love that song, brought back memories for me. So I started playing and singing it with my guitar. No more dulcimer for now though. But! now you're making me think about the dulcimer again.

I'd say first you're telling the truth because I have no reason to doubt you unless I knew you and you said something against your nature. Since I haven't met you, I have no basis of comparison.

You can actually be an astronaut. It's possible. Billionaires and even the president of US could be on RF. Best to take people at their word online unless you know them well enough to question their statements.

So I started playing and singing it with my guitar. No more dulcimer for now though. But! now you're making me think about the dulcimer again. Great instrument.
There's another song I learned a while ago, you're making me think of it. Haven't thought about it for a while, but it's real beautiful. I heard it first on a disc I managed to get at a thrift store, songs from music festival in Kentucky. Great music! OK, there are two songs. One is "Four Marys.," or better yet, "Mary Hamilton." There's a nice rendition by Joan Baez for this song. Joan Baez - Mary Hamilton [HD] - YouTube
Another favorite of mine is "Bonnie Charlie." What a beautiful song. Link is to the Corries singing it. Beeeoootiful! The Corries Will ye No Come back Again/ Joy of my Heart - YouTube

If its on the internet it must be true

A great contrast to last Summer actually......from the heat and drought (fires and tragedy) and dead grass....to cooler wet conditions and a lush lawn. We are sooo looking forward to Autumn which is usually mild and stable weatherwise. (not to mention beautiful with the trees changing color) The last two days have been perfect! :) Let the leaves fall.....:D

But not looking forward to Winter....:( Northern hemisphere winter has been very severe this year....hope ours isn't too cold. No snow much in Oz.
