Persecution of Christians

14 of the top 16 countries where Christians are most persecuted are muslim countries; could words like these be to blame?

Quran Surah 5, Verse 72
Those who say "Jesus is God" are disbelievers; they will not enter paradise, but hell. These evil people will have no helper!

Quran Surah 9, Verse 5
Kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way!

Sahih al-Bukhari 2476
Muhammad said, The Hour will not be established until Isa descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross and kill the pigs(Christians).

Romans 8:35-39
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation or fear or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written, "For your sake we are killed all the day; as sheep for the slaughter we have been counted" But in all this we are more than overcomers through Him who loved us. For I am confident that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That's weird:

Treat women nicely, for a woman is created from a rib, and the most curved portion of the rib is its upper portion, so, if you should try to straighten it, it will break, but if you leave it as it is, it will remain crooked. So, treat women nicely.” [Saheeh Al-Bukhari]

“You cannot guide those you would like to but God guides those He wills. He has best knowledge of the guided.” (Holy Quran/28: 56)

“God does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just towards them. God loves those who are just.” (Surat al-Mumtahana, 8)

Bible

Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord
Or loathe His reproof,
For whom the Lord loves He reproves,
Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Matthew 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

Romans 2:3 “Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?”

Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

-

It could be an abrahamic thing, I don't know. Though, I like how the Quran is written. Sounds more poetic but I'm not sure if "we" know enough about it to judge.

Interestingly, in a recent computer text analysis comparing the bible to the qur'an it was found that the bible is approximately twice as violent as the qur'an.

What is your motivation in posting this? To stir up hatred of Muslims?

This is the second thread you have started on this, based on the same 2 bits of quote-mining. Why do you not give us some context, so we can work out what is meant?

Meanwhile, how about this from 2 Chronicles:
And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul, but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.

Deuteronomy also has a number of passages exhorting people to kill those that follow other gods.

So we can all play this game. Does it prove anything? Or help in any way?

I'm curious as well. Normally the stats for Christian persecution come from Christian sites, and the definition of persecution is skewed. But who knows?

Christian prosecution others shapes a lot of our countries edict. The US protestants came here cause of church influences and so forth. It's in our art history, our schools, even missionary schools I'd assume study the whole of christian prosecution (though they see it as history not part of their religious beliefs).

Here is some light reading on christians persecuting others-pagans etc.

Christian Atrocities | Victims of Christianity | Catholic Church Inquisition | Crusades

It makes me wonder if christians today (the radical type and/or proselytizing type) would do the same thing as their predecessors did.
Yes, I think this is quite an instructive comparison. What I think we are seeing is parts of the Muslim world that are still culturally at the stage Christendom was at during the Middle Ages. It seems to me it has more to do with that than what may be written in a couple of verses of scripture.

Where does the NT say, "go and kill people with different faith" like the islamic scriptures say about Christians?

Matthew 5:43-44
You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Matthew 5:38-39
You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you: Do not resist evil, but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

The NT is 15% of the bible. Do you ignore the rest?

But the bible says there is eternal consequences and punishments for those who don't follow god.

The bible also has god telling people to kill others (OT) for the sake of his people.
Matthew 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

Many christians do support god, even try to convert people to this day, to come to christ. They honestly don't need to but think of it if they opposed thousands of years ago, they'd get killed. If they decided to question god now as not to convert people who don't need to, they'd get "killed" by their guilt.

Bingo.

Culture is the driving force. I can find many passages in any scripture urging peace etc. I can find the opposite. Culture determines which ones are emphasized.

What was Mohammed's purpose in writing these lines:-
Quran Surah 5, Verse 72
Those who say "Jesus is God" are disbelievers; they will not enter paradise, but hell. These evil people will have no helper!

Quran Surah 9, Verse 5
Kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way!

Sahih al-Bukhari 2476

Did he write them to stir up hatred of Christians, as is certainly suggested by use of the dehumanizing term "pigs"?

Another way to put this is, he did so by example.

God will be like fire from heaven in the end, but that is his judgment.
But if a "prophet" gives his followers permission to judge on earth by saying: "kill the disbelievers" and especially has a problem with Christians, then that is a difference.

I find Sahih al-Bukhari 2476 as:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts).

So I question whether it goes as you say.
