February 23, 2021 is that day after Pres. Biden's administrative policy review of the previous administration's agreement with Pyonyang. On this day that has been an attempted coup, says Yeonmi Park. 1500 soldiers turned their guns against the regime. While they were swiftly defeated, it may be a sign of change in the population. Mz. Park is a defector from N. Korea and is inspired by the coup attempt saying that when she lived there she was afraid even a mouse could hear if she made a peep against the regime. She never thought anyone would oppose it.

She says that the regime has depleted the nations resources and fouled things up so badly that the elites are having trouble getting usual items for cooking, and she is hopeful that change is on the way.

CFR linke to Biden's administrative policy review --> policy review

Yeonmi Park's announcement of the coup attempt:

It would be hard to think of a country more overdue for a coup than North Korea, but coups are never pretty.
What a perfect place to send our insurrectionists. Somewhere they can redirect their violence tendencies away from Americans on American soil. Use it to fight a real enemy of the people, not legitimate democracies with free and fair elections like they're currently are intent on doing.

I am not so sure about that. Let's not forget the love connection between Trump and Kim

Donald Trump says he and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un "fell in love" and praises his "beautiful letters"

When people go hungry and sick, they rebel.

Nothing to lose anymore. At least Kimmy isn't seen as some immortal God that never poops by a number of North Koreans.

The only report I've found of an attempted coup is Yeonmi Park's youtube video. I'd be more inclined to believe it if there was some verification.

If the regime goes, China will step in. It is China's baby. That is what China is trying to do in Myanmar, Nepal and Pakistan also, wherever possible.

That is assuming China hasn't already stepped in. Who ordered the killing of the current leader's uncle and brother? Who preferred the incompetent Jong Un? Maybe it was Jong Un that had them killed, but maybe it was somebody Jong Un fears. His youth and crazy China-first policies lead me to believe he is someone's puppet, and if so who would be the puppeteer? You said 'China' first -- not me.
