OK thanks for popping by. I'm just curious as to how many of these composers you've heard of. Not have you heard their music, just do you know the name. Idle curiosity really. Trivial, I know. Hence the thread title to counterbalance the banality of the actual topic.

Random, off topic and incomprehensible comments, as always, welcome. I say welcome, more like inevitable. Cheers.

Ives had me confused for a moment, Burl Ives first came to mind, was my grandfathers music of choice. Wait a moment, classical, then it sorted itself out.

I hadn't heard of Xenakis until a couple of years ago when his music was played during a community meal.

But i must admit the click bait had me intrigued

Who is Xenakis? Sounds Greek.

I once sang Spem in Alium. An Unforgettable experience.

(Jolly nearly mis-spelled it Spem in Allium, which would mean Hope in Garlic :D.)

Some of the names I've heard of, although I can't say I know much about them.

I remember reading a list of funny test answers and one was about Handel: "Handel's works were not written by Handel, but by another man with that name."

I noticed the name "Nielson" on the list. Does that refer to Leslie Nielson? I'm assuming it must be someone else, but just thought I'd ask.
